even if just 811 peachtree and 1138 peachtree get built, i'll be happy. those two projects alone will change the cityscape immensely.

O clexmond, I added a thread to the buildings and architecture section displaying the interface for the various cities. Trying to get the whole project going. Houston has some new developments added to it. Hopefully we can get a Seattle and NYC area map going in the right direction.

University House Eyes Summer '15 Debut, 2-Story Retail

Quote:

Officials with the under-construction University House Midtown say the project will be catered to students like a campus library, more or less. The developer, Inland American Communities, bought the land at 930 Spring St. from Ambling University Development Group and hopes to begin pre-leasing this summer. The 19-story tower will rise adjacent to Georgia Tech, and Inland officials are projecting an August 2015 opening, a spokesperson tells Curbed Atlanta.

In addition to 268 apartments (with 706 beds), University House will have a 10,500 square-foot double-decker of street retail, mostly fronting Spring Street. Officials are touting the development's easy walkability to Georgia Tech, but for those inclined to ride, The Stinger campus shuttle will have a stop outside the resident lobby.

Next door, the "Centergy North" property could host a 25-story tower, with more than 200 student apartments, 14,000 square feet of office space and about 5,000 square feet of retail.

In terms of amenities, University House will offer perks that residents of other new towers around Atlanta won't have — or want. We're talking about a "dedicated study room with Mac and PC stations, study pods and smart board technology." Not to mention the "community room with pool table" to compliment the on-site arcade. Other amenities like the dual club rooms, terrace-level pool and grilling areas should make the dorms seem even more blah than before.

I agree Bryant. I am bullish on at least one of the three 98 14th Street buildings getting out of the ground however. I'm just hoping it is not the stubby 39 story one. It will be awesome to have the 51 story "Yoo on Peachtree" building rising. Let us not forget the 50 story proposal by Selig on Peachtree either. I'm just glad Atlanta does not have height restrictions since this is skyscraperpage.com.

Also, can anyone update me on the Post Apartment building in Buckhead. Immovable Media is MIA and he always gave us such good construction videos.

I made a little mock up of Midtown if all the current proposals get off the ground, which obviously is doubtful.

From left to right:
Amli Arts Center. 17 floor Medical Offices. 3 towers at 98 14th street. 1138 Peachtree. 1125 Peachtree. University House Midtown. 33 Peachtree Place. Centergy North. 811 Peachtree.

Don't get caught up on the exact heights or designs, as obviously we don't have all the info, and I probably didn't get them all perfect, although 98 14th street should be fairly accurate, as I overlaid and skewed the elevations against the surrounding buildings. We obviously don't have 1138 or 1125 Peachtree's design yet, so those are filler. The point is that Midtown will be dramatically different and a lot more lively if even half of these go up.

What's not included is the dual towers on 10th and 11th, and Selig's 60 11th street, as these are all blocked in this view.

If anyone posts this picture somewhere else, please credit me for it.

Picture taken and edited by me.

I also find that roof deck at tech to be the best spot for Midtown panoramas. Nice work!

Mom and pop places are not credit worthy and therefore would have a very hard time securing a lease in one of the new developments on peachtre...

280 Elizabeth is chugging along. Took this yesterday. 2 more floors to go on the right side.

The bridge part of this project is very interesting to me.

Should really complete that area when wrapped up.

There's a major sewer line under the site. The City won't let you build on sewer lines because they need to have the ability to excavate them if they break - hence the bridge.

The leasing office for the Flats at PCM opened today. I peaked my head in a saw the half model they have set up. There is a full model on the website that's not open to the public yet. Looks amazing.

"Several other projects are also being planned to commence in the near future. Improvements are being contemplated to the property's prominent entrance along Peachtree Road which will include a new dramatic entrance, a dynamic streetscape filled with luxury storefronts, and new lush landscaping. New additions to Phipps Plaza will include 320 luxury residential units and a 164-room hotel with upscale dining. More information on these projects will be forthcoming as plans are finalized."
