I like it because it replaced an ugly surface parking lot.

Awesome! I can actually use that with my Vespa. Sometimes it can be hard to find things to chain my scooter too and I end up chaining it to the no parking signs. =D

My friend had her scooter taken a couple weeks ago DT. On the tape they just picked it up and set it down in their pick-up truck. She didn't have it chained to anything. =(

Yeah, I am very happy to see this. Willie Nelson already has plenty of bike parking. Score!
Not to keep this subject going, but here's a better photo of the Moody.

Makes a big difference with the glass back on alll the rails! LOL!

What I love about that shot is the brillence of how the outside and inside work together. Making that terrace outdoors and interacting with 2nd was such a great idea. I love how the stair well is outside as well.

Yah its just so dorm looking. I really wish they would build nicer stuff around u.t. I mean even go off the original acrchitecture style with some old spanish flare. If they did everything that way U.T. area would be one on the nicest parts of Austin. I mean Look at Columbia in New york its by far my favorite place on manhattan.

Wow I'm very pleased with the design, a bit nervous about the construction now. I live basically Behind the draft house. Kind of sad to see the place go honestly

Tightening Austin Apartment Market to Get New 336-Unit Addition

http://www.bigreddog.com/

Quote:
By Barbra Murray, Contributing Writer

Austin, Texas—It’s been a long time coming but construction has officially commenced for Oak Meadows, a mixed-use luxury apartment project that will sprout 335 residential units in what will ultimately be a transit corridor providing a direct connection to downtown Austin.

Originally planned for development by Cypress Real Estate Advisors, Oak Meadows is now coming to life at the hands of real estate company Greystar. In addition to premier residential units, the property will feature nearly 6,700 square feet of amenity space and 4,800 square feet of ground-level retail to accommodate the blossoming neighborhood, which is located a few blocks from St. Edward’s University.

The architectural firm of Meeks + Partners worked with engineering firm Big Red Dog to conceive a plan that would allow the sizeable mixed-use project to sprout up on a relatively small infill site. Space was a concern, as was the fate of a series of live oak trees specified for preservation.

Wow, that's messed up. My brother and his friends used to go there all the time.

I like the project. I hope that deck is public!
