The finer points of architecture and attention to details, is lost on most people as it is. I hope that doesn't become any more of a reason for developers to cheap out on designs. They are getting lazy enough as it is.
That being said, people like me and maybe many others that will visit this particular building, would have understood that little touch. They would most certainly have a sad smile when they walked in the lobby and and saw the light streaming through the small Gothic arches. I would have felt a heart glow and warmth upon realizing the architect had reverence for the tower before it. More specifically, it would have cost practically nothing to do.
