Good choice. I believe that's a "New York Style" (with Sabrett's red onion relish). However I do wish they had a place to eat with shelter from the usual wind.

Work on the atrium stepped up the last couple of days. I really hope that shabby, splintered POS utility pole will be replaced.

Surprisingly some heat haze today; but progress on the roof can be seen:

No change in the hoists so far; I wonder how long they will be required.

That pole has "temporary" written all over it.

Heat haze or smoke from the 7000* simultaneous fires raging across the region? For heaven's sake, it's only June. Can you imagine what it will be like by September and October when the fire season really kicks into gear?

*Yes, that is a slight exaggeration.

I was just about to say the same thing myself. This project is just like I imagined it to be, except for that light pole which seems oddly out of place. The roof is coming along great, and I see they continue to wait until the last moment to remove the crane.

The winds are suppose to shift tonight I believe, so all that smoke should begin to go away tommorow.

Except for the lifts, Millennium looks all but completed from this angle:

Another look later in the day:

I was up in UC Davis all day today (where the smoke was as bad as it gets), and I see that it was still somewhat smoky in the Bay Area today. Even so, Millenium looks great with its new roof coming along. Nice shots

It was a little better today, but still pretty smoky. Is every place in Northern California covered in smoke at the moment? Man.

Still bad weather for photos, but:

Here we can see a second crane being attached directly to the concrete at the top of the building. I presume that this is what they will use to lower down the other crane, as well as finish the other parts of the roof. You can also see that Millennium now has its own Spider installed:

The boom on the new crane can been seen here, folded up against the mast like part:

We should be seeing glass on the atrium next week:

It certainly seems like it. The advisory apparently stems from Bakersfield all the way up to Redding. I hope it clears out soon, because as Dave mentioned, its not exactly a sky to take photos in.

The bunker-looking concrete mass on Beale continues to stick out like a sore thumb as the rest of the building gets pretty glass, stone, metal, etc. Although it is hard to tell from the photos, there's a ten foot trench where the sidewalk used to be right up near the building. And, as has been pointed out, they're making nice progress on the atrium.

I didn't notice that they had already installed the glass on the roof of the atrium.

I'm sure that you can be sure that any part of that that will remain visible long term will be covered in appropriate materials. It may, however, be that the south-facing surface, if it is to directly abut the new TransBay Terminal building, will not be covered or may just be painted.

Millions for a porta-potty. Hmmm, I didnt realize our dollar had fallen by so much.

Nice to see the atrium getting some skin though. The sky looks much better also.

As few observations from today: the scaffolding is coming down on Mission and Fremont; the atrium has most of its glass; they're starting to do something with the bunker-like entrance to the garage on Beale; the sidewalks on Market and Beale are just about gone.

That's been an interesting process. They dug out all along the perimeter of the midrise, then re-buried it. Not sure if they were installing cabling or something, but it looked like they just wanted to repack the soil around the base. Is that a standard practice I've just never noticed before?
