Nice to see the demolition of existing structures is progressing. Let's hope steel begins rising sooner rather than later.

So this tower will be roughly equal in diameter to 1 tube in the sears tower. It will be interesting to see this built.

Demolition is in full swing at the site and it appears tht one building is mostly gone already.

They are certainly in a hurry to clear the site - a positive sign.

I thought it seemed like that building was showing more of the roof. But, how do they take them down. On the other building it looked like they took it down by slowly chipping away at it, even though it seemed to go down wicked quickly

The 'box' design is not improved in irregular boxes like trump soho. The box is only made worse in trump soho type buildings by unnecessary visual complexity.
This is my exacts thoughts on 432 Park. I was a little dubious at first glance but have totally embraced the slender boxness of this tower.
As a side, I think the Aon Tower is a magnificent skyscraper. After Sears (as it was when I was last there) the Aon was the tower I most wanted to visit.

I'm looking forward to returning to NYC and seeing 432 Park rise in construction.

This building is ridiculously thin for it's height. I love it.

Doesn't matter. It's not a view that's going to be blocked.

This tower is crazy thin for its height. I wish Canada could get a building like this. I will be keeping track of this one as it starts to rise.

Question

I wonder what kind of concrete will be used in this tower. I'm guessing that it will be at least 100 Mpa since that's what the WTC tower uses. Or maybe they'll use Ductal® concrete! Anybody know?

What do you mean by construction? I am not sure when it will rise above ground level but there is many months left of demo and prep work.

That said looking at the cam a few times a week they seem to be moving quite fast which is a good sign.

For comparison, One 57 is using about 8000 psi concrete, or about 55 Mpa. 432 Park is a lot skinnier though, so it may be closer to 100 Mpa. We'll know when the construction permits are finally filed.
