Aura Ground Level Walk down Yonge Street - Video
the problem with the ground level is more that its just not dramatic...marble and granite are def nice but the execution of the base is poor for such a large tower

ah, well. It's Yonge Street.

So in comparison to what's there now, it's the Taj Mahal

That isn't a valid excuse.

Yonge Street has the ability to change itself, much like what happened with the Celebrate Yonge festival. If anyone ventured on Yonge during that event, they would realize the potential that Yonge St. has. All it takes is some greenery and widening the sidewalks - opening up Yonge St. to pedestrians.

Lest not forget;

Mind you, Aura's podium is not done. There is still work to be done, so I am reserving my judgement till I see the final "polished" product.

Well Aura is part of that revitalization of Yonge Street.

Agree 100%. It's the biggest cop out imaginable. That's how we end up with shitty places in the first place.

The inward facing big box retail of aura is exactly what Yonge St. doesn't need. Unfortunately Aura will hurt Yonge more than it helps.

I think that the park on the opposite side of Aura, will get a lot more use because of the foot traffic Aura will bring to the area. Not to mention all the patios that will be looking in on the fountain. Potheads, will have to find a new hang out...

The foot traffic outside of Aura will be tremendous, they will likely have to widen the sidewalks at this intersection, otherwise it might become unbearable for the pedestrians.

How many floors to go, on the Yonge St. side, before the floor plate is reduced in size?
