This fact will become clear when the Bruins humiliate the Canucks tonight in front of a silent, dejected Rogers Arena.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you never speak in absolute certainties when making predictions in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Ever. It's the best way to turn what would have been merely a bad prediction into a total laughingstock.

Anyways, that was a fantastic game. Wish I could have made it downtown for it like I did for the last 6 games. Definitely going to be there on Monday and Wednesday if necessary. Nothing like being in the middle of it all for the big game.

Why aren't they using the Queen E Theatre plaza for anything? That space is worse than useless.

If you understood the full extent of the cosmic forces at work here, you would understand why I said what I said and your feelings toward me would not be derision but gratitude. But that would require personal knowledge of me, the history of my sports predictions and the cosmic forces at work in the sports universe.

Unfortunately, I cannot say more without altering those cosmic forces in unpredictable ways, for the gods are always listening, always plotting. All I can say is that I did my duty for the greater good, and I am happy to silently bear that burden even if it wins me no friends in the short term.

With that in mind, my prediction for the series: There is no way under any circumstances that the Canucks will win the Stanley Cup. They are absolutely, positively going to lose. The Bruins will crush the Canucks. There is no hope whatsoever. Nothing but defeat for the Canucks.
