I've already said that I question whether there's sufficient market demand for 1,500 condo units on the site, but you don't seem to understand what is being proposed. Holborn own the entire block, except for the blue clad office building on Dunsmuir. They only propose to keep the facade of the 1920s building on Georgia. Everything else gets redeveloped. Phase One is two condo towers on Richards, with a podium running the entire length of the block, incorporating the heritage facade. The hotel and open space will be opposite The Bay.

This bickering back and forth is just a little bit boring considering this potentially could be Vancouver's first supertall.

I'd really love to see how this will impact the skyline. Anyone have any renderings from Lower Lonsdale, Spanish Banks, City Hall, etc?

Quick and dirty mockup on Photoshop - as seen from Lonsdale. The building angles aren't quite right as there aren't many images to work with

Edit: fixed tower angles to be more in line with new Holborn renders

Amazing thanks! It'll certainly make the observation deck at Harbour Centre redundant.

Thanks! I actually took it a couple years ago haha so the credit's mine!

The building renders were pulled from the Holborn site https://holborn.ca/wp-content/upload...-Li-scaled.jpg

I think this one is new?

The buildings look a bit slimmer than the attempt to render the towers above. Keen eyes will also spot the new Abbott building.

Now that'll take Vancouver to the next level! I really hope this actually gets built out because this'll catapult our skyline to something we really deserve for a world class city.

To my eyes, that has a Singaporean vibe to it.

These buildings would drastically improve the skyline. I'm just worried I wouldn't be able to see part of a mountain when looking downtown from the south.

Yeah, so long as the tower is just as impressive as the mountain it partially blocks, the NIMBYs can go fly a kite.

... Assuming of course, that this isn't just another Holborn no-show.

So long as we don't complete elect an anti-development council, this thing will be built as long as Holborn wants it to be built. This proposal looks like it came out of a fantasy sketch, it would be incredible to realize.

Observation deck will give better views than any view one. It'll be worth the $137 to go up to the top

Insert the video code, not the whole url. Only what is after the =.

Even then, sometimes the code has been changed to include other information (including what link one followed I believe) so it’s best to go to the channel page and open the video there to get the base video code.

It's supposed to be free for locals!

“I made sure if we’re going to be the tallest tower in Vancouver, it has to be for the right reasons. You need to have a tower that people can get behind and support you,” Holborn Group president Joo Kim Tiah told Daily Hive Urbanized in a sit-down interview this past Monday.

That is also why access to the public observation deck would be free for Vancouver residents who book online in advance. Tourists would pay an admission fee.
