Hopefully they can restart soon. It'll make a nice addition to West Georgia.

There's a "portable" crane there right now and they are removing the construction trailers. It looks like they're shutting the site down.

I have a new target project, capturing the excavator egress, if it hasn't happen yet. (Maybe while they have the crane there today, maybe they'll lift out the excavator today)

Edit: 20 minutes later

Edit: And 10 minutes later

Edit: And 10 minutes later. Ah geez! They're taking things out of the pit.

I will check it out tomorrow morning.

Site Shut Down

It's looking derelict now.
Going to the site this morning felt like I was paying my respects.

It looks like they at least installed some sump pumps so the site won't flood

There were 2 or 3 construction workers on site, no machinery inside the pit.
Road was blocked.

They had a occupancy permit issued saying Excavation - Other

That one starts March 2 and ends Jun 5

(They need to restart their work before May 8th when the permit expires)

There's a jackhammer attachment laying on the ground so many they were fixing something to restart work.

There are fulltime workers (Construction Safety Officer and did not see but probably people in the site office, a superintendent)
Spoke to the CSO (nice people), construction will start up in a couple of weeks.

Looks like they will make the May 8th deadline, a large mobile crane on site right now.

There were some inspector reports in March for their permit saying the project was restarting as expected.

GenWhy? I think you witness the excavator delivery. This morning the mobile crane was delivering rebar (I believe or other material).

This morning, Pic by Me, Apr 02, 2026 - It is no longer propose and is now under construction

Ah yes that explains why I was confused because I thought they might be pulling out the excavator. But as I can see from your photo the footings were not complete - so this is great to see. I'll take a better look this evening.

I just really want Alberni fixed up so I want all these projects to succeed.
