So with the Waterline, this thing, 3rd & Congress, and Railyard there’s a reality that exists where Austin could maybe have 4 supertalls.

That’s as many supertalls as Houston and LA put together. Or more than SF, Atlanta, and Philly put together.

What a wild building the supertall version of this would be. It's already wild at 800+ feet -- but will be even wilder with 200 or more feet added on.

Since nothing has been said about this one for about a week - I think it is safe to assume it did not make it onto Monday's design commission agenda. Does anyone know when it might go before the commission and we'll learn more about this project?

The agendas usually get published online on the Friday before the meeting. The DC meeting is 9/26, so the agenda should be made public this Friday.

If 200' is plopped on top of this, will it remain the same form all the way up or will it have some other features? I actually don't mind it but would love some of the taller buildings to add some spice to the skyline where possible.

I think any decorative crown might look out of place with the almost utilitarian aesthetic of this building. Count me as a tentative fan contingent on renderings with or without a height increase.

I actually like this box as well, compared to other boxes.

That said, I agree that a crown on the building as it's currently designed would be a stretch. I just want a statement crown on one of our upcoming tall buildings.

This is still apartments, but is there any indication of unit count? 12 per floor at 71 floors would put this over 700 units.

There was on that day that the City accidently released all those elevations due to a software upgrade. The jackpot of elevations we got that day were all removed from public view late that afternoon. There was a lot more data to gather about a lot of projects including this one before the city shutdown the permitting website to fix the mistake.

The Design Commission Agenda for 9/26 does not contain any density bonus reviews. It is all discussion on various aspects of the Urban Design Guidelines updates.

I saw that, disappointing. I doubt that the 305 S. Congress discussion will have any significant new info. But once in a while, items get added to the agenda between the time it is made public and the meeting.

It's not the Design Commission's fault the potential applicants have submitted anything yet. If they did, it would be on the agenda if submitted on time.

Not sure about what the rumormill knows at this point, but the developer didn't get info in front of the Design Commission in time for their Sept meeting. Next meeting isn't until end of this month, which is the earliest we'll see it come before the city again.
