Not too worried about the height. It always seemed a bit iffy if it would be a supertall, it's still a nice design and still over 250 meters, i'll take it.

So there is a chance that this and Coach Tower could be rising at the same time? They would be very similar in height, would make a nice 875ft+ duo until everything else gets put up.

Coach Tower is 895' and already under construction.

It already would be *now*.
When 2015 rools around, I'm afraid the people who work to views to the east might not last very long in their jobs.
The sheer *gaping in mind-numbing astonishment* will put a dent in daily production and goals-meeting strategies.

Sad for height reduction ... It's a shame to see great buildings lowering their height (as the Tower Verre). Either way it's a great building, its design is amazing. I'll wait for more information.

This is the most quality skyscraper currently in the works, imo - its a beautifully simple design that's cohesive with the surrounding neighborhood, landscaping, and infrastructure. It just works in entirety.

Re the height: Y'all relize of course that this is gonna be taller than the Corset @HY, though not by much (35').

Re the design: The new renderings are *sweet*. The base's curves are a fitting contribution to the overall futuristic atmosphere of this whole new neighborhood. THe diamondesque sheathing reminds me of 200G, especially with the top angled off.

The only thing I would like to have seen is a rendering of the whole HY area with this included (Plus the several towers in the immediate area that are "go's", and current proposals that as of now stand the best chance of proceeding).

The tower just to the north - aka the Girasole - aka 3 Hudson Blvd - has been left out of the renderings, likely to give us a better view of One Hudson Yards.
The placeholder design of the tower planned across Hudson Blvd is there, and Related's Hudson Yards towers are shown, though not to exact design and scale
that we know they will be.

The "four towers" area in relation to the rest of the Hudson Yards. Extell refers to this as the "gateway", and in a sense it will be with the subway.

Looking south on the new Hudson Boulevard Park towards the Culture Shed. Also notice the Freedom Tower way in the background. The Girasole is not pictured,
it would block the view of One Hudson Yards from this angle. Also notice Sherwood's placeholder on the left.

This is a view of the final section of the High Line looking east. Notice Sherwood's placeholder, and Related's towers, including the Equinox (E tower)
that we know will be taller.

The $1 billion building is expected to stand 877 feet tall on 11th Avenue, between West 33rd and 34th streets. Designed by Kohn Pedersen and developed by Extell, One Hudson Yards is set to offer 1.75 million square feet of office space.

“The deliberate expression of the tower’s sleek ‘diagrid’ structural system creates a dramatic visual landmark in the heart of the Hudson Yards District,” says a description on the project’s Web site.

Originally announced in 2009, One Hudson Yards will sit atop the No. 7 subway line extension now under construction, adjacent to the planned Hudson Park project and across from the Javits Convention Center.

It would also be next to the West 34th Street entrance of the subway line, which is scheduled to open next year. A source close to the project said office-space rental rates have yet to be set.

Developers have said previously that they would start building only once they have signed up tenants for at least half the space. “We’re looking to deliver the project by late 2017, 2018,” said the source, adding that the MTA “has built a majority of our foundation” due to the subway construction.

“That’s why [the developer] has the advantage of speed to market without the risk of environmental hazards or hitting bedrock,” the source added.

Extell’s project is just north of mixed-use mega-development that Related Cos. is building on the Hudson Yards rail site bounded by 10th and 12th avenues from West 30th to 33rd streets.

There's a lot of potential for that waterfront - I'm sure overtime as the area builds up, the waterfront will somehow be utilized in a more recreational way.

With all these towers so close, it won't be long before money is put towards entertainment/recreation on the waterfront
