They are custom, but
theoretically you could.
Brickshelf user
RoccoB has been creating
LEGO Digital Designer virtual models of some of my designs.
You can download the software and models for free. Click on the first link for the model files and the second to download the software from LEGO. With LEGO Digital Designer you can import or create models, and then order them directly from LEGO. The software will price out your design and you can even design a custom box and instructions.
When I checked the prices, the Empire State Building came in at $813.09, the Chrysler Building at $722.73, and the Sears Tower lists at $913.91. They are pricey because you are paying for a custom service provided by LEGO. The parts are hand picked by workers I believe.
(Note: I bought my parts in the aftermarket - at probably half that cost)
There is one big issue, you can't submit an order for anything that is a trademark. If you submit any of my skyscrapers for purchase I'm pretty sure they will be rejected by LEGO.
One workaround would be to recast the pieces from each model into another model that isn't copyrighted (it could be something as simple and meaningless as a big cube) - essentially creating a generic parts set.
The cheapest solution is to directly source the parts from
www.bricklink.com, but be prepared to have to order from multiple stores to get everything.
