What a joke, better not to propose anything at all if they don't plan on at least starting it within the next year or two.

I hope Halsted Point's start date is much sooner. That way we can have 10-15 years of nonstop construction.

Landscape design is meh, especially those pavers. But I like the towers.

Yeah is there a reason the start date is so far off? So much can go wrong in 5 years

An Onni rep has gone on the record saying they wanted to wrap up Halstead Pointe before starting on Halstead Landing. The former is four towers that would likely be built and financed one at a time. Things can improve in the meantime, but getting projects out of the ground is difficult right now.

This is exactly what I said a few thread pages back. I swore I heard a rep in a way earlier meeting mention that they wanted to wrap up Halstead Pointe before starting 700 W

Almost feels like a waste of time and resources to be discussing and planning something this far in advance - especially the later phases.

Not sure if there is some greater strategy here - maybe more lead time to search for financing given approvals. I imagine if financing were to fall into place these timelines coul move up considerably.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but getting entitlements for a big project like this can increase the site's value and gives the developer options to sell if needed. That said, Onni is known for hanging on to their properties much longer than their peers.

Deferred again... We'll see if it happens in June.

I did get on record in favor of this proposal...

True but it can also go right, I really hope interest rates are lower and demand / general morale regarding building is back by that point.

I know it's crazy to think positively these days but hey...

It must be costing them a lot to hold onto these sites.

That's good news, I like that project a little more and this way we'd have nonstop development for the foreseeable future.

Lol maybe the real reason they don't anticipate construction until 2029 is cause the Plan Commission keeps deferring them every month

On the June agenda.

Finally approved this morning.

Hoping this, along with the other developments in the area, will not rise (or never rise at all) depending on the fate of the Casino

Can you share the link or website showing what was approved? I wanted to see if the Clybourn tower was approved but I’m having trouble finding the info anywhere.

Disappointing to hear Clybourne tower was deferred; some kind of redesign in the works?
