This is their first big project, as long as there is progress I am happy with it.
Though I agree its slow going I think it will pick up once the foundations are all complete.

I always assumed they would contract the construction out to an experienced high rise contractor. Although it sounds like they are trying to gain in house experience with the west tower up on Fanshawe Rd. As they plan to build high rises at Bostwick and Southdale, Springbank and Wonderland, Sunningdale and Richmond and eventually at Anne St. Probably a good idea to start building a in house construction team with experienced foremen and concrete forming crews, steel rebar, tower crane operations. Very different skills from commercial plaza construction.

Wonder how many workers they will lure away from the likes of Old Oak, Tricar, Drewlo, Concrete Forming. How many workers might move to London from GTA?

They were pouring concrete pilings south of the pit yesterday. Given that's where they have the dirt ramp entrance to the pit for equipment it will be interesting to see how they plan to navigate around or thru these major concrete pilings. For some reason they where digging deeper along the pit walls as well. Might be in preparation for footings. This foundation work has been really slow or they have run into engineering and technical issues that have delayed it.

Major milestone to finally see the tower crane go up. They have been excavating the pit for what seems like a year now.

Great to see, huge milestone for sure.

We tried to peak through the wall on Sunday after the Knights game but it is sealed up pretty good from the King side anyways.

Will be curious to see what sign goes up on tower crane. Will it be a York sign or that of a contractor like Concrete Forming or PCL or Ellis Don?

They haven't used the crane since it went up it seems. Still no concrete footing forming in the pit. They have removed some of the dirt ramp for heavy equipment thou.

Hopefully this is a sign of footings being poured soon. Though, the snow would not help!

Good news! The steel rebar crew has started forming on the north side of the pit for the foundation. Should see major concrete pour within a few weeks.

Most of north side of pit now has the steel rebar installed and formed. Looks like very close to a possible concrete pour soon.

The north side of pit has now had a concrete raft slab poured. Looks like about a meter thick and approximately about 25% of the pit floor. Good progress on the remaining 75% of the pit floor with the steel rebar installation. Will be busy for a while finishing the steel prior to a massive concrete pour.
