In roughly one month, the crane will be lifted 100'. They want the crane to be at full height before they start stacking floors.
I spoke with my buddy the crane operator here the other day. He said that the project was scheduled to be at the 11th floor this week. The excavation contractor screwed-up and delayed the project immeasurably. (The rain this past summer probably didn't help either.) Also, the crane will now be raised when the 7th floor is achieved and secure.
In the contractor's and subtrade's defence, I'm sure there are a NUMBER of issues from piling spec to environmental conditions that contributed to the project delay. But yes the piles took longer than they should have.
