Yeah, the west sidewalk is already decent from Grand up to Chicago. South of Grand, there are a lot of older buildings on the west side of State. Cantina Laredo is the only recent one, but it seems they weren't required to
follow the setback. If they ever do want to change the cross-section, it'll be expensive to move all the subway vents.
Also, seems to be a trend with arcades on the east side of State. I always assumed this was a directive from DPD. Loyola did this at their business school, Grand Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn, Palomar, etc.
