^ The 50 storey Karma condo is under construction a couple blocks to the North of Aura. It's above ground now. YC condos (58 storeys) will likely begin construction directly beside Karma in the next year or so.

Yonge College Condos will be its closest competitor at just about 200 meters. Just north of the tower.

agree. 2 queen would have been a nice company at 220m but was withdrawn.

We have not been getting enough updates on One Bloor! That thing is looking awesome! With this wicked cladding, it could end up my favourite tower in the country!

Yeah, not enough updates on One Bloor.

When the cladding moves up a bit, I think I'll be more motivated to do my own photo updates.

One Bloor is gorgeous . I'm so excited to see this thing go up. It's always the best part (for me) seeing the finished project and how it ended up compared to initial renderings.

One Bloor is shaping up to be the project everyone has been craving in Toronto. Height, design and, quality glass.

Too bad, nothing (launching/planned) in the foreseeable future here, will even come close to matching it on any level.

There are a number of proposals that promise to top it, but they're quite far off (as you alluded to).

This list is going to go through some interesting changes over the next year. Toronto will drop to only 7 positions on the list, with Calgary taking two spots by the new year with Brookfield and Telus Sky both occupying the top 5. In fact, Edmonton will be entering next year with their debut 200m+ tower meaning that 3/5 of the tallest towers u/c in Canada will be coming from Alberta. Very impressive

Toronto's two in the top 5 will be One Bloor at #1 and the taller Harbour Plaza tower at #3.

It'll be fun to watch this list change and get some diversity going on it. It'll be awesome to welcome Edmonton to the list for the first time!!

In the 7 years of this list, Toronto has only been down to 7 spots once.

That would be the year we had: Shangri-la Vancouver, The Bow and Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary all under construction or finishing up. So long as we have had this list there has never been a time when any province with the exception of Ontario has had more than 2 entries at any one time.

A massive amount of Toronto towers will be coming off the list with no foreseeable replacements:

ICE 1 - 234 meters
ICE 2 - 202 meters
Aura - 273 meters
L Tower - 205 meters

At least any replacements that will equalize that height.

Coming onto the list in the next year from Toronto:

Eau Du Soleil (699ft/213m)
Massey Tower (679ft/207m)

Those are the only 200m+ towers TO will be adding in the next year. We are running low on inventory YC Condos might make the top 10 at some point at 198m, I imagine it could start construction by fall 2015.

In the medium term (2-5 years) I can see the Signature Towers coming on board though probably not for another 4-5 years. 480 University could start construction in as early as 2 years, Mirvish Towers are a wildcard but construction in 3-5 years is possible, then a possible office tower (Union, 156 Front, 45 Bay) would all easily be over 200m. Then there;s always a chance one of those Yorkville towers could get going in that time. As for 1 Yonge... there's another possibility there too. So there are more towers coming, TO will just be going through a lull for a 1-2 years as our big projects complete.

^It's funny what passes for a "lull" in the Toronto construction scene these days.
