There currently is mostly concrete and pavement in this space so a lush green space with lots of trees, paths, and other public art pieces will be a great addition. This space will also make for a great view point of Metro towns continued skyline development.
I also noted the slide and will also be going down it despite being in my late 30’s by the time it is open

Not sure what the problem is with having pleasant, design-oriented green spaces that are actually open to the public, if someone else's private wealth is mostly what's funding it. If this person would like to put his heart where his mouth is, I'm sure he'd rather be spending his personal time at Oppenheimer park than here.

I mean really, if being flanked by high rises is a deterrent, then shouldn't Robson Square or the seawall be complete failures?

[QUOTE=logan5;8465730]Where can you find another park like this?

Let us know how it goes. It will be a park experience like no other.[/QUOTE

QE with tennis courts , golf, public gardens that rival Butchard Garden, viewpoint lookout, restaurant and literally 2 minutes drive from Oakridge.

Westbank's banner ads are showing that the shorter tower (Tower 3 - Sergio Castiglia) is now sold out. They are now launching the taller tower.

I was at Oakridge the other day and they were doing a lot of tree clearing so I thought I would take a pic and share...

Hmm, I get the gist I think.

First part says life style.

Then something about new city of the future? (or your future?)

未来 in Japanese usually refers more to one's personal future.

Well site clearing has just started apparently, so things are in motion.

Also there are no models for these towers on the Vancouver diagram yet.

Given your profession sir, there's a high chance that you'll know before we will.

5931 Cambie Street (formerly 650 West 41st Avenue) (Buildings 6, 7, & 8) - UDP

UDP Praise Newest Oakridge Centre Towers for Bringing Nature into the City

5931 Cambie Street (formerly 650 West 41st Avenue) (Buildings 6, 7, & 8)
The ongoing transformation of the Oakridge Centre from typical bland shopping mall to an urban paradise open to people of all incomes levels continues to amaze me. Every time another stage goes to the experts of the Urban Design Panel, they too appear even more impressed than the last time they saw it.

Still, with the turnover on the panel there were plenty of questions, as one member even asked the city staff member on the project to provide a summary of the site’s history. As the development process has been going on for over a decade, it wasn’t surprising this question appeared to draw dirty looks from almost everyone in the room. Somehow, city staff skillfully summed up the story of the site in only a couple minutes.

The meeting itself went far longer, lasting almost 2 hours, which was unexpected as the project received a lot support. Most of the changes the design team have made were praised as an improvement from the previous version. This post would become very bland if I detailed exactly how the entire panel commended the applicant team’s work and expertise. However, I will spend the time to detail their recommendations from this fine grained review.

That seems to be a shadowy corridor they are creating there.
The stepped tower will block afternoon sun.

You mean the ones at Tisdall, or the ones planned for 44th? There aren't any at Cambie-41st.

Several months ago at the open house for the rezoning stage, I overheard a member of that small building's strata council express frustration that they couldn't get 80% of their building to vote in favour of selling. Take that for what it's worth.

At least the small office building on the northwest side is getting a good reclad.
