Personally I'm surprised it has had such little uptake, but the building does have its issues.

This will have a small effect on the new office projects, but this is largely viewed as an isolated case within the industry. I'd expect at least 2 of the next round of office towers to go ahead relatively soon.
Issues, for sure. The low-rise heritage section reportedly suffers from very low ceiling heights, low enough that some people have been able to touch the ceiling in sections.

Ya I didn't get too into them because I think I've brought them up in this thread before and didn't want to bore people but column spacing and ceiling heights in the lower heritage floors are tough. The tower portion should be leased though, I don't see any problems with that space other than the price... well and that they gave away naming and signage rights to a fractional user.

^^ Well the thread is 49 pages already so a little refresher on the history is much appreciated.

Okay, I hope you are right. All I care is 320 Granville gets built. That parkade is ugly and needs to go! All the others are just gravy once that one is built....

Well IMO they will all get built, it's just a sequencing issue.

My guess is:
  1. 753 Seymour
  2. 601 W Hastings
  3. 555 Cordova
  4. 320 Granville
  5. 1090 W Pender
  6. 1133 Melville

I left 625 W Hastings off the list because I don't even know who is proposing it and I left The Post off because I'm not sure if they need to build the office to build the residential or not.

I fixed the ones above ^.

You're just using the wrong version of the link, you need to use the http://i.imgur.com/xxx.jpg link instead of http://imgur.com/xxx

Have not heard about 1090 W Pender in a long time. Sad to see 1133 on the bottom of that list, but at least you give hope that it will eventually move ahead. Would love to see the re-design.

Also nice pics above!

Honestly, there's no reason 1133 is at the bottom other than it is the furthest behind in the entitlement process and the biggest of them all, requiring the largest pre-lease.

It is still a solid project and WILL get built.

The owners of the adjacent heritage Royal Bank of Canada Building are proposing 625 West Hastings, and it is reportedly the one most likely to be built first, as per jlousa.

Also, what happened to 601 West Hastings? You reported a rumour it would likely start in the first quarter of 2016. And you honestly think 555 West Cordova is still alive near term?

No idea on 601, every few months I hear that it's about to start up but then months pass and nothing happens.

555 is still alive. Was shot down at UDP, went to a public open house in Dec 15' to address the issues as outlined by the public and UDP, and have been working with the city to resolve them ever since.

Not sad about 1133 at all. It's way too big to be allowed to be even more boring looking than the others.

Funny as we're talking about this I hear a few rumours of two new deals being done, one of them was very interesting.

Will have to wait and see if they are accurate.

Ah sorry, LeftCoaster mentioned that they might take space in GWLs Vancouver Centre project.

They do not. They are currently on the market for over 100,000 more square feet.

They should move into the Credit Suisse tower and turn it into the Amazon Tower.
