Definitely a lot more action on the site the past few days. They have a few diggers now going and building piles, breaking up the parking log, etc. Also saw them setting up a generator unit and putting up signage.

Still no dump trucks though but can't be far.

2 of those piles are what looks like gravel that they trucked in... possibly for road building?

Could be. They need to relocate the road that is next to Coast Capital currently further South. Only issue is it is a required road right now to get into Coast Capital building so I'd imagine they need to build the new road first, then connect it and decommission the old road.

Still looks like a tie between the Hub and P.B.. Both are removing rock and other debris and moving piles of dirt around but neither has actually started digging down. They are draining the big puddle on the Hub property however, so maybe that's a sign.

That's usually how it starts. I remember when Prime and Evolve both started - they were moving piles of dirt back and forth for about a month before they started digging. Not sure what this accomplishes.

For whatever reason, the first idea that popped into my mind is that they're moving piles between their properties. PB moves it onto Hub, Hub moves it back

Maybe it's to compact the soil to make it easier for machinery to work with/on? Just a wild guess...

Typically for a few reasons:

1. Needing to move dirt/rubble to another location so they can construct something where it was in prep for excavation.
2. Looking through the dirt/rubble for contaminants or issues they may encounter later on, aka how many large rocks, etc.
3. Need to get dirt/rubble in one spot to relocate it to another as fill.
4. Moving dirt/rubble to a staging area to make access to trucks easier
5. Moving dirt/rubble to construct a ramp area so the excavators or trucks can go up/down during digging

Those are just a few reasons to do what looks like just move dirt from one spot to another. Unfortunately we see dirt and to us it all looks the same, but often you're seeing different piles from different locations. If they had a time lapse web cam you'd likely notice it isn't actually dirt moving from one spot to another.

Either way it is a sign of activity on the site and that excavation is not terribly far away, likely under a few months until full scale excavation starts.

I could be wrong but it appears excavation has started at least partially. There is a lot of activity and this morning and in the afternoon driving by there were multiple excavators one of which was loading dump trucks.

They've been loading dump trucks for the last few days but then dumping on site on the old parking lot to the east. Possibly excavation...Possibly more site prep.

So I think we can say they started excavating. A hole is growing beside the credit union and they're trucking it off site.

I'll see if I can take a few photos on Monday from my daughter's daycare which is on the second floor of the Coast Capital building.

I give up. They didn't dig down very far and now there's very little activity anywhere on the site except for one machine wandering around moving some dirt here and there.
