They aren't replacing the roof. I think the shiny strips are new reinforcing for the existing roof - they weren't there when the tar paper, etc. was removed.

WE HAVE GLASS (and a wide fin)-
and it's pretty sweet looking glass (seems quite reflective, though there is some distortion).

Very nice glass! I think once there is more up it probably won't seem to distorted.

They've cut the opening in the floor at Robson and Granville for the escalator entry into the extension of the mall on the lower level.

'Really wish that a second entrance to the SkyTrain Canada Line Vancouver City Centre station had been part of this renovation.
