Now, that can happen to many places in Canada in January, as just shown in Ontario and Alberta, and Ontario may have the more southern sun, but something that can only happen on coastal BC in Canada is a sunny 10 degree day in January with no ice to melt, no frozen ground, no dirty snowbanks, lush green lawns, palm trees by the sea, and green gardens.
Everywhere has its positives.

While rare, you can definitely have the first 4 of the bolded if it's been a mild start to winter in Southern Ontario. But definitely no palm trees or green gardens.
7 day forecast is quite cold in Toronto; we could get extremely cold lows by the weekend/early next week. TWN is forecasting lows of -22 both Friday & Saturday night. Dipping below -20 is exceedingly rare in Toronto, even during cold spells, so we will see.
Even more insane is that they have us staying below -10 between January 23rd and February 1st. The closest equivalent I could find in terms of a cold snap was December 2017 - January 2018. Between Dec 26 and January 6th, the highest temp was -6.3.
Today,
-8, high of minus 6 and flurries throughout the day.
