It was supposed to be 24 C today....felt about 21 C or so. Perfect weather for a bike ride or to meet someone outside.

18 C tonight, and the next few days are in the high 20's.....c'mon.

There is no point in giving weather stations names that have absolutely no meaning or just some obscure historical reference, the names should reflect the geographic location, isn't that the point of having a weather station, or is it meant to inspire people to do more historical research? Just a thought.

In Vancouver today, another average to blah day, it was about 22°C, mostly cloudy, wind is 10 km/hr now.

24C with a humidex of 27 and sunny! Official high was 21.5C yesterday which means our streak of days above 20C (and 21C) is still going on. Toronto for example stayed below 20C while Ottawa was below 21C yesterday. Considering Windsor had a high of 20.9C on July 22th, we are the only place in the country to make it through July and August without failing to reach 21C a single day.

Cool morning at 11C. Surprised EC got it right this time.

The warmspot was Emerson, MB at 27.8C.

Windsor, Toronto and Montreal also make it through July and August without falling below 10C but that's normal. Excluding the freak occurrence that was 2017, we made it through in 2016, 2015, 2014 (for YUL at least)... i didn't check further

Surprisingly, we are pretty far from the record. I couldn't find the data for 25C so I used the closest which is 26C.

Considering 1959 had 82 days above 26C, that year must have had around 90 if not more days above 25C.

We'll be adding to the total quite a bit

Chilly start to the day out there this morning, I think it dropped to 7-8 degrees overnight, which is probably a sign that the seasons are changing.

That's okay, I guess.....fall is really, really nice.

September looking toasty across Southern Ontario and Southern Quebec. Expect many more 25C+ days, even a few 30C+ days.

At my place, the forecasted lows are between 21 and 25 until September 13. Highs between 25 and 30.

Nice temperatures, but you can already feel the strength of the sun waning as it moves southward in the sky and further away for the winter.

Cool and lovely.

Spent the day down on Duckworth helping jeddy1989 and his man put up gyprock, plaster, and paint at their soon-to-be-open Mad Catter Cat Cafe.

The streak of 22C+ days is now over at an all-time longest of 69 days.

The streak of 23C+ days is also over... also an all-time longest streak

They finally added the number of 25C+ days this year...

I have hated Toronto's summer weather this year with a passion.

We always get heatwaves, but the number and length this year have been very offputting.

The specific issue of humidity is a problem, its gone haywire. What I would think of as typical is summer highs of 26 feels like 28.

What we've been getting is 28 feels 36.

Yuck! Right now, in my apartment, I have two air conditioners going all out, and at 6am in the morning the temp inside is 24C with 71% humidity.

I can't imagine how much those without a/c are suffering.

Which brings me to other issue, silly high night-time lows.

Its one thing to have highs of 26, if you get 16 at night.

Its another to get a nighttime low of 23.

Some portion of this is the urban-heat island, but there's more to it than that, as rural southern Ontario has also been showing much higher nighttime lows than the historical average.

Just awful.

Hmmm yes but that is your opinion. I personally love the warm overnight lows. I get up early for work so it is nice then but I am also up early on weekends and that means mornings on the patio. It is 23C with a 33C humidex at 6:45 AM right now, it is glorious, calm, warm, birds chirping. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

It's probably time, nights are getting cooler in some parts of the country.

------

Cloudy and 16 at 11am. Sun should come out this afternoon and it should warm up to 20'ish.

Heat Warning continues for the next few days here with highs in the low 30s and humidex readings in the low 40s. I’m gonna enjoy these tropical feeling days as much as possible, as things will inevitably start to cool down soon!
