Yes, it's still there - and no. If I understand correctly, this development stops at the Taco Cabana property.

Someone please correct me if I am misinformed.

Unfortunately I believe it is not, which stinks. Hopefully if the Fuqua development suceeds there will additional development down Cheshire Bridge. I will say that when they did the streetscape improvements a couple of years ago it did at least clean up that street some....

Does anyone know if "The Pot and Pan" has relocated from the Piedmont site?

Ponce City Market could land design, consumer startup incubator

A new incubator focused on design and consumer startups is expected to land at Ponce City Market, an ambitious $200 million redevelopment of a near-century old warehouse in Midtown

Michael Tavani, co-founder of deal site Scoutmob, is finalizing an up to 30,000 square foot lease at Ponce City Market. Tavani, who declined comment, could eventually take an additional 20,000 square feet.

Ponce City has, so far, attracted three midsized tech tenants — athenahealth, Cardlytics and MailChimp. The $2 million incubator is likely to diversify the tenant mix — luring startups and non-tech businesses to the development.

A startup culture renaissance in Atlanta is birthing several entrepreneurial hubs— a cross between incubators and co-working spaces, that include startup programming and events.

In Buckhead, David Cummings is investing $20 million into transforming a buttoned-down 100,000 square foot office building into a sprightly décor’d tech hub, that houses 150+ software startups.

Meanwhile, a real estate investor plans to transform downtown’s wedge-shaped Flatiron Building into a 40,000 square foot entrepreneurship hub.

In October, Atlanta Business Chronicle first reported Tavani's plans to develop the design and consumer startup hub in the shadow of global brands such as Turner Broadcasting and The Coca-Cola Co.

“Atlanta’s a great consumer brand town, just not a great consumer startup brand town,” Tavani said at the time. “We need design and consumer wins to put Atlanta on the map.”

While the incubator will include some tech companies, emphasis will be on attracting design-focused startups.

Small potatoes, but it's great to see more active things going further south in Midtown:

Eintein Bros Bagels is set to open a new Atlanta location.

The popular bagel shop recently filed a building permit application with the City of Atlanta to begin work at 800 Peachtree St. in Midtown.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but there's a tree removal sign up at 848 Spring (Centergy 2) and several orange flags and orange spray paint on the trees and sidewalk.

Oops, corrected. 848 Spring street. I just automatically typed "Peachtree"... force of habit!

Very interested to see some renderings of the new 12th & Midtown towers. The 1138 rendering that came up is looking pretty underwhelming.

Ok cool...this will be very interesting to see the impact as far as density is concerned. This is kinda exciting.

A C Marriot Phipps Plaza render

The 6 story project is slated to begin construction this year. It is located near the corner of Wieuca and Peachtree roads will have two levels of parking which have a vehicle connection on the bottom level to the Phipps Plaza parking desk and a walking connection for pedestrians on the upper level. The project architect is Cooper Carry.

Looks like something you'd see in the former Yugoslavia.

Not that that's a horrible thing, necessarily.

I bet it looks more like what you see at the bottom.

So with the addition of A C Marriott, Marriott will have almost ALL...if not all...of its flags represented in metro Atlanta. While the architecture of the Phipps Plaza hotel is not earth-shattering, it says alot about the health of the hotel industry in Atlanta. Too bad it's not taller but it makes for good infill.

Is 13th Street going to be extended? From this rendering, it doesn't look like it.

No way, the lot isn't anywhere near wide enough. An extension would take up all of it. Here's the original brochure (which I'm sure has been posted before, but here it is again):

http://flyers.cushmanwakefield.com/flyers/1138%20Peachtree%20Marketing%20Brochure.pdf

If you were thinking it would be extended, you might be thinking of the AMLI tower by Arts Center station, which will (reportedly) include an extension of 15th to Spring.
