Wow, what an array of projects in a very small area of midtown - very exciting.

98 14st looks slighty taller than 1180, 98 14 st needs a nickname.

weren't we calling this the Symphony Center site? based on the previous plans for the Calavatra symphony hall. Symphony Tower?

based on that render it looks like the roof height puts it right at the top of the batman wings of 1180 and a little over halfway up the pyramid of One Atlantic's crown. No idea what the upper floor configurations would look like if they went with this design but seems it would be the tallest occupied floors north of BOFA tower?

Flatiron Building could be redeveloped into $10M entrepreneurship hub

According to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the historic Flatiron Building in downtown Atlanta could be redeveloped into an incubator to foster entrepreneurship in the city's core. Arun Nijhawan managing principal with Lucror Resources, LLC plans to buy and renovate the 40,000 square foot building into a "collaborative place" for Atlanta’s "makers, thinkers, and doers," according to a document filed with Invest Atlanta, the city's economic development arm.

Invest Atlanta offered Lucror a $1.5 million loan to help offset acquisition and renovation costs, which are expected to top $10 million. The loan will be repaid in seven years and require the developer to provide space for a women’s entrepreneur center.

Nijhawan, a distressed real estate investor, expects to acquire the Flatiron in March and have it renovated by the end of the year. Nijhawan, former real estate chief of $5 billion hedge fund GMT Capital, has raised $8.7 million, most of it in private equity.

The development will include more than 36,000 square feet of collaborative workspace designed for more than 330 creatives[IMG] and design-led startups and entrepreneurs. The building will include event space, and 5,600 square feet of ground floor retail space.

250 Piedmont

Paces Properties has filed for a permit to convert 250 Piedmont in Downtown into 324 apartments. The plan includes replacing the glass in the tower, tower façade enhancements, adding a pool and green space on top of the deck, and some minor street level improvements (the parking deck is a separate lot and Paces does not own it, they only own the tower in the "air rights" above the deck so have limited ability to change the street level).

Great news about 250 Piedmont. Can't wait to see how it looks with the new facade and glass.

I'm not sure if the Equitable building was ever going to get reclad? I believe they have replaced all of the windows though. And I think i noticed some work done around the entrance?

I'm interested in the Coca Cola complex upgrades as well. Last I heard they were still filing permits for it, but that was a while ago.

Hey guys! Long time lurker, first time poster. I have some Atlantic Station updates.

Steelworks is topping out (16th and Mecaslin). It's going up fast... I have a feeling they're aiming for summer. They kept the park on the corner. If the latest renderings are accurate this will be a great addition: http://www.theprestonpartnership.com/project/steel-works/

Soka Gakkai is nearing completion (17th and Village). Sadly the pocket park and reflecting pool in the renderings have been replaced by a parking lot, but it's still a big win considering how oddly shaped and tucked away that lot is.

Beazer is preparing to add some homes (16th and State): http://www.beazer.com/atlanta-GA/atlantic-station

This should be very cool. I assume the ceilings are maybe a little higher than typical residential construction?

Yeah that is a strange intersection. Surely Atlantic Station didn't want to restrict access, so maybe someone in Home Park demanded it..? There are speed humps all along that road so someone was paranoid at some point

I remember well, it was Home Park.

They freaked out about Atlantic Station coming as much as Ansley Park did, hence the way 17th Street intersects with Peachtree.

although i'm certainly excited to hear about this, i can't help but think it's a poor investment. if this doesn't fly, it might put the damper on future residential development downtown.

In what sense? It's directly connected (internally) to thousands of jobs at Peachtree Center and sits on the extension of the PATH trail to Centennial Park.

Went to the bank in Buckhead today and snapped a few pics.

What project is going up here? Southwest corner of Peachtree Battle and Peachtree. Looks like it used to be a school, but I wasn't aware of a project here, unless I forgot it.

This building was at around 3 floors, sorry no pic:

Buckhead Atlanta is making quite an impact, both towers are topped out(ish):

Unfortunately blocks the skyline from this view up Peachtree. Guess it's a new view.

You can see Restoration Hardware's new building coming along across the street on the left.

Restoration Hardware again:

Sorry these pictures kinda suck.
