that last picture is the most horrid. It is clockzillian. Might be one of the worst, other than Clockzilla, Longueuil's skyline, Pepsi forum, and of course, Missingsausage City Hall (pictured below, looming over the wastelands of MCC and Square Ugh).

Ugly math. Worse than integral calculus.

Why must all Convention Centers look like crap? The only one I genuinely like is the Ottawa one. Here’s the Calgary Convention Center.

Wow I didn’t even know London had a convention Center (outside of the crappy ones in Hilton Garden Inns) Toronto’s is a complete bunker.

Edmonton’s beats both our local Convention Centers in being a fugly bunker.

Canada Place in background for extra ugliness.

Yup I was looking at Shitty Hall one day and it struck me. It has The Rooms shitty pomo yellow colours and blue windows and Clockzillas clock of doom. In other words it takes the worst of two of the big ugly's and shoves it into one package. Although it is not as bad as the other two it is one of my personal least favourite buildings in Ontario.

Brampton is the Laval of Ontario (Scarborough is the Longueuil)'. Norton Lake Residence is most likely its ugliest building.

It's quite an easy building to spot from miles away as well, from those brutal windows.

I was trying to find that picture SignalHillHiker posted of Ches's diner and Google provided me with this amazing Yelp review:

https://www.yelp.ca/biz/chess-fish-a...ps-saint-johns

This one reminds me of the interior of Scores Chicken:

What is with the nasty table cloths in all of them? They look like flayed skin that has turned gangrenous.

The incongruity sort of reminds me of Calgary's Mustard Seed building. I actually don't mind the top half, but the podium super clashes with it. In person it's almost dijon mustard coloured. Why make the podium so traditional when the rest is not?

To make matters worse it sits across the street from a hideous parkade and right beside notorious Bromley Square.

The picture of Clockzilla in the frame is just priceless.

You really have to experience the atmosphere to fully appreciate its hideousness. Like jeddy1989 and I are both from comfortably middle class backgrounds. We can speak with a generic Canadian accent on the phone with mainlanders (that's one of the signs here, lol), both of us went to school for a little while it was still denominational but graduated years after they went secular, and we both had Protestant and Catholic friends. We're both from mixed families. Neither of us has been to a church in years or has any sort of religion in our daily lives.

But in Ches', we got into a shouting match over past actions by Protestants (how he was raised) and Catholics (how I was raised). Literal, loud argument. Ches' just brings that out in you. It's like... since moving to my current neighbourhood, Rabbittown, I now feel no shame, I feel nothing at all, when I go to the superette on a Saturday morning in my pajamas. That would've absolutely horrified me just a decade ago. All my childhood pictures, everyone is wearing socks on our living room carpet at family gatherings and Mom is still in her heels. That's how I was raised.

This should really be Ches' commercial.
