Ever so slowly, but its getting there. I must be at around 80 pages now. Writing, texts and a lot of pictures. Still slowly finding memorabilia.

One of the renderings above shows an Earls restaurant in the current Shoppers location.

I'm really happy about Earls. I've noticed that in the first renderings. I grew up with Earls in my university days in Mississauga, and I'm incredibly happy it's coming here. I hope they do it similar to the style in Mississauga. If so, we can expect our very own, very nice updscale patio / restaurant!

For those who don't know, Earls is a lounge-type bar & dinner restaurant. More high class looking than Milestones, but with $14 pitchers of beer and $5 shots

Club Monaco is moving from its current location to where Eddie Bauer used to be, near men's Banana Republic. Will be a huge space increase compared to the current store !

It makes sense that H&M would go there, because the Shopper's and LCBO are moving to the old food court freeing up a lot of space in addition to space in the new expansion adjacent. I imagine the TD ATM's and the somewhat temporary looking Miss Tiggy Winkle's will be freed up for H&M as well.

Not caring how much Nordstrom paid for the naming rights on the new food court location. It's still "Eaton Court" to me.

Also: I miss the earth tones and maple leaf motif. Why are we expected to believe there was something Wrong with it for the purposes of the expansion/renovation?

There was nothing wrong with it per-se, however the replacement was done as a part of a rebranding and an attempt to convice shoppers it is a higher class of mall.

I liked the earth tones and leaves too, as they were different. Now it looks sterile. I would have though the leaf might have stuck around, even as a logo.

The leaves have been moved to the wall along the entrance to Nicholas Street, fyi.

I just wish they'd name the damn things before opening them. I still have only a vague idea of what or where the Giant Tiger Centre, Touchdown Place, and Shaw Stadium are. And I think the Eye Centre, that's that barnacle out by the airport, right?

I'm getting tired of the current O-Train logo:

I would like to see it modernized with a red "O" similar to the City of Ottawa logo.

I agree! The O-Train logo could definitely use a revamp.

The big red O looks like a giant donut!

Can't wait to see the cladding going up on the extension. This project will do wonders for Rideau and downtown Ottawa

Too bad the Claridge towers have made street level Rideau a worse place than before.

I disagree. Claridge Plaza while not particularly pretty have resulted in a net improvement to Rideau Street at sidewalk level. There's retail facing the sidewalk and the tall tower portions are set back behind a podium. Much better than that 'Rideau Mews' eyesore that was there before. When the next CP phase is built on the Metro site it will make it even better, as that giant parking lot will be eliminated.
