As a result of the amalgamation in 2023, the municipality’s population grew to over 11,000, and its territory expanded to include Scoudouc, Scoudouc Road, Shediac Cape and Pointe-du-Chêne. The Pointe-du-Chêne Wharf, Parlee Beach, cottage communities and campgrounds are important tourist destinations that bring thousands of visitors during the summer season.
“The provincial government is expected to announce the location of the new K-12 English school in Shediac in the near future,” Danny Pellerin, Shediac’s director of economic development and tourism, said in the news release. “In addition, construction continues in rapidly developing subdivisions such as Domaine Beauséjour and Domaine des Faisans.”
Pellerin said a 139,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse project is also planned for the Scoudouc Industrial Park.
