I am talking about the farmland that was a lake. The Coq is a whole other discussion....

Maybe more education of highway drivers would help more than overpasses at every intersection.
Multi lane highways without grade separations are still quite often the norm in even in Ontario. Highway 417 just east of Sault Ste Marie has few grade separations. Highway 11 when it was first 4 lane by Huntsville was not fully separated. That was only done after people died in accidents, some of which were caused by very stupid decisions on the part of the driver. Regardless of the design of the highway, the driver is at error BUT when driving on a 4 lane highway there are certain expectations of the design of intersections and interchanges that most drivers have.

417 east of SSM? 417 does not extend past Arnprior area.

Sorry, I meant Hwy 17. I typically don't differentiate between Hwy 17 and the 417 since it is 1 long continuous highway.

Provincial road lighting network - Modernization of nearly 80,000 luminaires within 6 years

Over the next six years, the MTQ will invest $ 190 million to modernize its road lighting network by turning to light-emitting diode (LED) lighting technology. Approximately 2,750 lighting systems comprising nearly 80,000 luminaires spread over the provincial road network will therefore be modernized.

Yonge St. is not continuous with Hwy 11. The claim that it was/is the longest street in the world was never remotely based in fact to the best of my knowledge.

It was highway 11 up until the 90s when it was downloaded south of The Split. Point is, we should be using their proper markings.

Pretty remarkable given the level of flood damage shown on the news.

Personal vehicles will be able to use highway 99 same day and highway 3 the day after.
Coquihalla and once tch highway 1 is open they'll be essential travel only.

TCH is nowhere near being repaired. There's still an emergency rail crossing at tank hill that just goes right over the road.

Yep, apparently not open until sometime in the new year.

watching the updates from BC Transportation. They are really kicking it. Looks like even if they all get opened, there will be years of upgrades and full repairs to take place. Talking with out group that does highways they are getting info that there will be major realignment to some sections. the bridge sections that were damaged will need full rebuilds, because the sections removed are only being back filled.

Highway one, they are putting in temp bridges and it looks like a level crossing at Tank hill until the bridges are rebuilt.

This won't be a quick or cheap fix.

Last time I went to USA, I passed by The Thousand Islands Bridges (Ontario Route 137 & Interstate 81).
Here's my video about that. Very nice area!
