Anyone know whats going on this property at pipeline and templeton?

They dug out the underground parking a year ago, and it's been sitting untouched since. Just a gaping hole in the ground.

Ironclad is a strange company. 5 years ago they came from no where to become a major developer in Winnipeg. They seemed to be building everywhere. They also amassed a large staff. It really was the place to work, or so it seemed. I know over the last year most of the staff that I know have left for other companies.

I am not sure if they are in some sort of troubles as a company or not. It is a weird, quick rise and fall (too harsh, I'm not sure).

They are a high volume developer for sure. But I suspect their designs have always been at the absolute minimums to make their buildings work, and the recent cost increases have meant they have to shelve or pause some developments for the foreseeable future.

I've heard from some people that work there saying that they are putting a pause on building in Winnipeg so they can focus on other markets. I am assuming the combination of construction costs and comparatively low rental rates here make it less appealing than other markets.

I noticed some large brackets being installed right at the very tippy-top of 201 Portage. Looks like there will be some sort of sign or lighting going in up there? I don't remember any mention of it when Harvard was discussing renovation plans... anyone know what they're putting in?

I work in that building, not aware of anything. Maybe related to all the communication towers up there? Another sign would be cool!

I'll ask security to see what they say!

^ It doesn't look telecom-driven, it looks very sign-like, I was wondering if it might be a jumbotron-type display panel? Or a fascia sign like the one on the main level that was installed for BMO?

BMO has branch and office on main floor, but RBC securities take up 2 floors i think

I would assume that only one bank gets signage rights, though? It would look weird and kind of cluttered to have two bank signs practically side by side at the top of the tower...

TD built the building, now RBC and BMO are in there
TD now has its sign across the street fr it’s former building on 360 Main I always called Trizec the Scotia Bank one because it’s bank was on the corner.
BMO was across on the corner fr their heritage building into the one that TD built and shared with RBC lol
And yes RBC has its own still

I'm trying to make a list of condos in development does anyone have any idea what the easiest way to track them would be? There are some sites that cover Toronto and have like 30 different listings.

Are you handy with R or Python or the like? If so, you could probably get what you need from permit data[1] and assessment parcels[2] from the Open Data Portal.

Very interesting thanks. Even using filters looks like it may give enough information. I will play around with it.
