Yeah. I'm torn, Ryan and Ken. I really liked the ability to read a few updates at once off the main blog page. Is there a way to read at least a paragraph of each update on the main blog page? That said I love the photo layout when I'm on a computer. Put a paragraph of text under each photo and I'd be happy. However, from my phone it leaves a bit to be desired.

I like the new Infill website. I need to check it on my phone but it looks good on a computer. Would it be possible to add back the date of each post on the main page?

Sorry, I see that the date is on every post but the most recent. If you add the date to the most recent post then it's perfect!

Thanks Pierre9436! The post date is below the picture and title in each box. There is no date for the top post, that's just how the design works.

I guess the top post doesn't really need the date. I just checked it on my phone and it's pretty good. I agree with seventwenty that a little bit of text below each picture would be nice. That might mess with your format if it's much longer than a sentence though.

If it's pretty good on your phone then I say don't screw with it. SBNation has a team of techs that's been working for months to get their new format syncing with all the varous moble platforms.

I think it looks really good. Thanks for the update. I would just suggest making the text a bit smaller. In the sections where it's just a sentence or two under a photo, it's not bad. But in other areas where it's text heavy, such as the contributor bios, it's rather large. I prefer tighter paragraphs with smaller text. For some reason it's easier to read and seems to take less time.
But I love all the photo on the front page. It make it easier to peruse the stories without having to scroll through each post.

Yes, that's a very good idea. Smaller text and tighter paragraphs do make it easier to read. Make it happen!!

Ryan,

I do not honestly know how you are bold enough to show us a new design that has no ground floor retail. It is like I do not even know you any more. And what about the shot of the crane lowering the new large photo element into the HTML, in fact there are no site construction photos at all. We deserve better. Denver deserves better.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! As far as the text size, that's not going anywhere. It matches every other major 'blog' and news site (like CityLab), and we decided it would be nice to match it.

The posts you went through yesterday are the old design imported over.

We have lightbox, and new layout features that are going to be in place starting today. It's too much work to edit every single old post to match the new theme. So...

This is what every post going forward is going to look like: (clicky)

lumos - That is too funny.

I like everything about the new blog design so far, especially now that I’ve seen that most recent post. I don’t know why anyone would complain about the large font. It’s so comfortable to read and not straining on the eyes at all. Maybe I’m just blind? Lol

What I like best – and it’s something that’s probably applicable to no one but me – is that it works very well with my speech recognition software. I have a somewhat crippling repetitive strain injury so I’ve had to use speech recognition software exclusively for years now, and I love a website that works well with it. My favorite feature so far is the photo viewer /slide show thing. I can toggle through all the pictures by saying “right,” “left” and no longer have to struggle with all the mouse commands. (I used to only click on the most interesting looking pictures because it wasn’t worth trying to click on them all.)

The only nitpick I’ve ever had with the site is when there’s an update that doesn’t include a link to a previous post with renderings, so I’m looking at pictures of a hole in the ground and trying to remember what the heck project this is. I know others have complained about it and you guys have since made an effort to include those links, which I really appreciate, but I’ve always thought it would be nice if each post included a rendering for reference - even if just a small one. I would love that, but others might think it’s redundant I suppose. I’d be curious what others think about that idea.

Also, I love the inclusion of the map!

Totally agree with this^

And...the new site works great with my mobile! I literally never looked at DI on my phone because the site was tough to navigate. Now it's perfect. Very simple and readable. Great changes!!!

Sam Hill, I'm really glad that it works with your speech recognition software! That makes me really happy!

As far as the previous posts there technically is a link. At the bottom of a post, excluding the one we just posted, there is a project link under 'Tags' just above the 'you may also be interested in' section. If you click the project in the 'Tags' section, it will bring up a grid of all the posts we have in the project. Since each grid section has a picture, the announcement post will 99.9% have a rendering, so you can see it without even clicking again. Let me know if that makes sense?

Pictures for reference:

After clicking the tag, you get brought here (zoomed out so you can see the whole page):

Also, enjoy this picture of 1144. I forgot to cross post it this morning.
