Agreed, and the blank wall towards the convention center really isn't as bad as I feared.

I agree on this too. Hey I counted 4 floors on the Ramble hotel-maybe 1st floor ground retail with 3 floors of rooms above..

The buildings been designed with the double high first floor that includes a mezzanine.

The 1144 crane is up there! What's neat is that the apex (highest point) of the crane is almost exactly the roof height of 1144. It gives you a great idea of what it will look like in terms of height on the skyline.

I love that last vantage point. If you draw a straight line from the lens to 4S, you can just imagine how different it will look once we get those three parking lots filled. What's exciting is that they should all be under construction around the same time, instantanously plugging a giant hole in the urban fabric.

I noticed yesterday that you can see it from City Park now. Although, you can't see the mast - only the jib - so it's hard to tell if you're really going to be able to see 1144 from City Park. I think from most angles you won't be able to.

Tough to say. I don't think you're going to see much because of the self-inking-stamp building 707 17th Street. Here's my prediction in spectacular Paint fashion:

True. But only if it's brought closer to Union Station as was originally envisioned. Wonder how feasible it is to run either under the bus terminal or under the station plaza?

Though both are unrealistic.

I think we're far too busy encouraging roadway expansion and turning a blind eye toward density focused transit for this to ever be a reality for Denver, not to mention the cost. As far as I know the only North American city still considering a new subway system is Toronto (although Seattle's "transit tunnel" may be a bit more realistic for us), which is somewhat embarrassing considering the expansion that's been seen in emerging economies.

Edit: Not to mention that as automated vehicles become more prevalent over the next 4-5 years in metropolitan centers, many people are of the opinion that a there wouldn't be a reason for such a system in cities the size of Denver.
