The two do not connect as the portion through Craigellachie is jot four-laned yet. There are not any near-term plans for this on the ministry list of projects.

Avoca Road to Crazy Creek, 3.5 km of four-laning, had been completed some years earlier to the east of the North Fork four-laning, and the two together make about 7 km of four-laned straight-away. To the west of Malaka was four-laning from the Socred days, with nice grass medians.
The Clanwilliam Overhead and several kilometres of four-laning was completed in 2013, far to the east, 10 km from Revelstoke.1
