MY GOD, 432 meters?!
The height is even better than I imagined ... It is amazing to think that Midtown will finally have a building with more than 400 meters.
Anyway, it seems that the reign of the World Trade Center as the tallest building in the city (roof height) will not last long. And this is very good for the city, shows that the city continues to grow.
I really hope that 432 meter figure is correct, 1WTC shouldn't be the highest roof in NYC. I'm looking foward to seeing the final design though, some nice glass could really make this look good.
Man, I hope 432.8 meters ends up being final! That would rock! The best part would be that it might get others to build roof heights in NYC taller than 1400 ft as well.
I can't see this building being built, not if it stays true to the current renderings that we've been provided. Either the height will be decreased or if it remains the same, the design will be radically altered.
I said this a long time ago and I'll say it again. I'm reserving judgement until I see OFFICIAL RENDERS from the source with REAL height numbers, etc. etc. Why hasn't the official render been released? Have they not completed the design?
^ Probably wasn't finial at the time. It likely won't look much different from the rendering we've seen, we'll just have a better detailed look. We don't have an exact height yet. Plans for the complete building haven't been filed with the City. It's only a matter of time though.

The owner of the former Drake Hotel site on Park Avenue, one of the premier Manhattan development sites, is taking its first major step toward building on the property, according to a recent application with the Department of Buildings. The owner, Los Angeles-based CIM Group, hasn't said what it's planning to build. The application calls for a five-story office building, but that's not a reliable indication of what's to come. The subterranean work for a five-story building or 50-story building is considered quite similar. Under current zoning, a much bigger tower could be built. The application allows the developers to begin initial work without tipping their hand.

Developers are moving forward with super-secretive plans to begin construction on the most valuable development site in North America.
A team led by the California-based CIM Group has filed an application with the Department of Buildings to begin construction on the site, at Park Avenue and 57th Street where the Drake Hotel once was, according to public records.

what will the dimensions be for this building it seem like it will be thin
I don't know how accurate the SSP diagrams are, but the new 1WTC is 200x200 ft and the old Twins were each 208x208 feet. JUDGING by the DIAGRAMS it is much skinner. So I would say appox. 140x140 or 150x150 ft. Not exact because I'm not sure, but just judging by the diagram on SSP.

This building has gradually become one of my favourite projects in NYC even though I started out hating it, and if this really does end up being 432 meters tall I will be most pleased.
I have one question. All the building will be in the area they are working now?? Or they have to demolish some of the building close to it?? I mean the ones we can see in the webcam
