Looks like the city has moved the fan zone to Georgia Street. Apparently there were concerns with overcrowding on Granville Street. Georgia can accomodate a 100,000 easily! http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2011/06/downtown-fan-zone-moves/

I might head back down or not

I wonder what kind of traffic mayhem that's going to cause.

Okay, they beat us, but at least we kept the game close and did not allow them to utterly humiliate us.

Because that would be devestating if we let them humiliate us to historic proportions and gave them extreme confidence that we are a very beatable team, especially at such a crucial juncture in the series.

And with Hamhuis out, it's a good thing that we played smart and didn't lose any more defencemen to anything stupid like a suspension.

And it's a good thing Vigneault again showed good judgment about at what point in a game he should make a change at net.

Good job Canucks. Good job Vigneault.

It's very *rare* Luongo has a playoff series where he doesn't let in 6 or 7 goals once. But, that doesn't happen every game lol, and it won't.

The good news is we have lots of experience getting blown out in playoff games and should be able to bounce back.

But as bad as we were blown out by Chicago (and it was bad), we were never blown out this bad. This blowout was historic. Moreover, in the Chicago series, we had the luxury of a 3-0 series lead. We don't have that luxury this time.

No Samuelsson. No Hamhuis. And now probably no Rome. This time it is different.

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

Well since you put it like that, I'm not only afraid, I'm terrified.

I think Rome knocking Horton out of the game like that took the killer instinct out of the Canucks game.

I would actually disagree with you on that point. After the hit, the Canucks successfully killed the 5-minute major, took the wind out of the Bruins' sails, didn't shy away from making more big hits and had the momentum for the rest of the first period. It was quite surprising actually.

The Canucks came apart in the second period after the first two unlucky goals.

"Kept the game close?"

Um, what part of 8-1 do you NOT get?

Rome suspended for the rest of the playoffs it looks like. He got 4 games on what I thought was a late hit but certainly not head hunting. Bullshit!

4 games is a joke. In the SCF, that's probably equivalent to a 8-10 game suspension in the regular season. And yet the Bruins players get nothing for throwing water bottles at fans or actual blindside hits. What a joke.

He was likely only suspended so long because this is his 2nd offense of the playoffs, and 4th of the season.
