As long as the hotel covers the parking garage from the north. They could easily fit a 200 room hotel right there with limited surface parking.

Anyone thinking that they may announce their move to Central Park East at this event? Seeing how they are sponsoring it and all...

^ Did they outsource the graphic design to China, because that final phrase "we recommend riding light rail to most easily arrive" sounds like it was prepared by someone who speaks a primary language other than English. LOL...

Reminds me of this sign I saw in Hawaii:

HX_Guy, does one need to RSVP to attend the State of Downtown event? Id like to go but I dont see the flyer mentioning anything.

Also why are the buildings on the little yellow part of the flyer not buildings in Phoenix? Thats dumb.

Neither of those examples you mentioned are Engrish. The sign and the flyer are perfect, normal english.

^ Right...I always use the adjective "fresh" to describe clothing for sale, instead of the usual term new, assuming that's what fresh clothing means. And "to most easily arrive?" Please. It should have been something like "To avoid traffic congestion, please use the light rail."

The term "fresh" is old slang, basically meaning "cool". Early 90's slang.

ya, I think we all got the use of the word fresh, but you couldn't have gone on engrish.com and picked something actually funny?

Pool? Pool deck? As in swimming pool?

Quote:
Permit# AMND-06-1166A1 Issue Date Expires 11/2/10
Permit Description NEW ENTRANCE, POOL & DECK TO EAST ELEV
Project 06-1166 CENTRAL PARK EAST

Description/Scope of Work: AMENDMENT

THIS AMENDMENT IS TO ADD NEW ENTRANCE, POOL AND POOL DECK TO WEST ELEVATION
NEW ENTRANCE, POOL & DECK TO EAST ELEV
That would be consistent with having a hotel built into the building...but what terrace and where would they put a pool?

Edit: Looking into it a little further, there are several new permits issued Nov. 2009 dealing with new elevator access, new entrance, and with floors 21 -26. Looks to be associated with Freeport McMoran...I guess they want their own private entrance. Do they also want a pool?

well it says west elevation, so maybe they would build a terrace in all that open space they left against Central Avenue.

No matter what, it sounds like good news for OCPE.

I have never heard of a pool being added after a building was done....though could they be talking of putting a pool and decking on the parking lot north of the building? or maybe a play pool to the east, where they just put all those trees?

Yea but a pool at street level? That makes no sense at all. Maybe an indoor pool on one of the higher levels?

I'll check with my buddy who designed OCPE, see if he knows. He knew about the boutique hotel going in and let me know. I am sure he can fill me in on this too.
