I had hoped that they would have done something like this at the Disney hole site, but if Blatstein can pull this off, it might be a great catalyst. I'm hoping that the Mormon's take a look at it and decide to do something to play off it at the 16th St lot.

How contentious development can get when NCOs oppose progress

Found this article, that isn't a skyscraper, but shows how hard it can be to build something in this city at times if even a handful of people with money oppose it:

His plan for the Divine Lorraine and surrounding areas.

New High Quality Housing in Logan

http://www.philly.com/philly/classif...mpid=124488469

Seems they are very efficent housing, but wheres the urgency for a low income owner to advance themselves out of poverty?

I made a thread for this but it was moved here for some reason. CHOP's Ambulatory Care Center will rise 14 floors and 292 feet.

When you made it the first time, you didn't have enough information for it to justify its own thread.

Now you do.

Blumenfeld's plan for the redevelopment of the Divine Lorraine and surrounding area.

The Divine Lorraine itself will likely have 126 rental apartments with ground floor retail likely to be restaurants from Stephen Starr and Marc Vetri.

Walking around Center City Uni City yesterday:

1. That new office building at 41st and Powelton is nearing completion, being topped out, framed out, and covered in insulation, with the façade starting to go up on the Powelton side.

It's about double the height of everything else in the area, which makes it feel a tad out of scale with the surrounding housing stock.

2. 3737 Market is def a big hole.

3. Does anyone know what the big hole between Colket Translational Research Building and the parking garage at 38th and Civic Center is? All I can establish that it isn't the CHOP site, which is on the other side of Colket.

4. Has anybody noticed that there's a big hole in the steel on the Sansom's street side? What's going on with that? Does anybody know how there's going to finish that area, since is sure as heck isn't supposed to be a garden or anything on the renders.

Is there construction work at the CHOP site? I swore I heard they were building an office tower on that lot.
