I mean that looks impressive in theory but...

There are multiple properties on the "Approved" list that are on the market as entitled projects or the developer is otherwise showing signs of cooling off on the project. And then multiple projects on the Approved or Planned list are still sort of pipe dreams with regards to financing, remediation, etc OR will deliver a massive amount of units but over a very, very long time.

although a distant relation, we do indeed have a new member of the family, as can be seen in the Three Corners shot

elsewhere in Dogpatch, Tennessee St is the current epicenter of activity. besides recently-completed 815 Tennessee, we have

- the little project on the corner of Mariposa
- the UCSF Psychiatry and Counseling building at 18th
- 777 Tennessee across 19th from 815 Tennessee
- 901 Tennessee at 20th

and, we can now add 950 Tennessee across the street to the list, as demolition has started on that one:

so, six projects in the span of just over 3 blocks

I had never heard of it until yesterday when I read Todd David's Op-Ed about how the condo owners at BLU are trying to sue the entire Central SOMA plan to stop One Vassar from blocking their views.

OneVassar is Parcel F of the Transbay Terminal Project upzone. The Central SOMA overlay has no impact on the height on that particular project. It is approved for 806 ft and the condo owners can't sue (well anyone can sue, but they'll have no chance as views aren't protected and all the EIRs are completed for the Transbay projects).

That is incorrect. The proposed One Vassar (as described in the article) would be on Harrison between Second and Third, here:

Thank you for the correction. Yes, OneVassar is evidently the shorter tower in front of the Parcel F placeholder.

The scaffolding is up in preparation for the demolition to make way for 200 Van Ness which will be a 12 story building. The rent controlled people have been moved across the street to 150 Van Ness which opened recently. After the building at 200 Van Ness is built those rent controlled tenants will have a new home at 200 Van Ness. They are getting quite a nice deal!

200 Van Ness will be 12 stories tall, room for 420 students, have a restaurant, 2 music halls and 27 rent controlled apartments.

viewguysf, Pedestrian - the former CCA building as far as I know is now owned by the Academy of Art (they seem to own half of the buildings in San Francisco) and are not going away anytime soon. (for those that don't know it is the green clad building in the photo)

To be honest, I don't know why people haven't proposed just making this a thing that developers have do if they're getting rid of rent controlled units. I think it'd get rid of a lot of the current issues people have with new developments.
