21 Rio is at the top of that list. There's 4 renderings at the site.

I like the design! I could be wrong, but 21 Rio could be the 'farthest west' 200 footer in Austin, perhaps edging out The Castillian.

On another note, I dont know if anyone is aware of this, but the Dell Children's Medical Center (on the former Mueller Airport site) will incorporate a large ornamental tower into its design. I'm not sure of the ultimate height, but one must assume it'll be at least 100 feet. Its already going up as we speak...I can see it here from the Guadalupe/51st street area. Kevin, you'll probably want to add this to Emporis, if its not yet there.

^ Yeah I added it already. I've already tried asking for it's height several times. I guess I should go to the construction site and just show up and ask for it's height. I had read that the tallest building at Mueller will be 100 feet tall. That might just be it actually. By the way, the old control tower there is 86 feet tall.

Anybody know more about the developement "constellation" that is supposed to be built on the northeast corner of I35 and Riverside Drive? I hear it goes before the planning department a week from tomorrow. The neighborhood is up in arms over its proposed 200 ft. condo. Frankly, I think it is a great substitute for the rundown hotel that currently sits on the land.

It will be interesting to see that part of the city get some height, with 3 project planned at I-35 and Riverside, wow.

QUESTION: Is anyone interested in Mueller for a future residence http://www.rmma.net/? I'm considering it, with the rail, and "urban village" style
living. It seems it may have a lot to offer. We went out there last weekend
for a "meet and greet" and they still haven't chosen the builders. The
web site says sales to begin Fall 2007.

I'm very well informed about this project. Where did you hear that the neighborhood is "up in arms" about the "tower?" That is a false statement.

The neighborhood has had a difficult time even coming to an agreement as to a "tower" height they would support (of which they have yet to accomplished). Some say 200'+ if Constellation Property Group lowers the density...others say no more than 100'.

For the most part, the EROC (and SRCC) neighborhood supports this development. They may feel differently about Mac Pike-Wally Sutton and Cypress Real Estate Advisors' developments down the street!!!

This project is slated to go before the Planning Commission on May 9. It's hearing will probably be postponed until the May 23 Planning Commission hearings - when the PC will hear and approve the EROC neighborhood plan (which has been in development for over two years – evidence of the indecisiveness of this group).

I am personally very interested in living there [eventually] too, but like yourself, all I've seen are proposals and schematics. Nobody to call for info about actual ownership yet.

My timeline for home-ownership is significantly less than a move-in date of Fall 2007, so I suppose I'll have to wait.

Yep, everything fronting 2nd street will have a retail component... "Block 21" directly across the street will have a little of everything, and to the left (west) is the AMLI "block 22" residential tower (18 stories)... which will also have a ton of retail (as its older cousin does, two blocks to the east). Even the city hall has a small retail component (including Austin Java cafe) on the northeast corner. Not sure whats going in on the NW side yet.

Now get this, they say Pelli Clark Pelli Architects is currently designing the tower! Cesar Pelli?!
