Probably the new normal. But doesn't seem out of line based on my experience.
Before buying the house I now share with my wife in early 2020, I rented a 1 bedroom apartment in downtown Burlington. I was paying almost $1,200 a month, with no A/C nor an in-unit washer/dryer (and it had a
very basic galley kitchen, 1980s-era appliances and I don't think the "custom" cabinetry had been updated since the building went up in the late 1960s; hydro and water were included but nothing else). They prices they ask now are $1,600 to $1,750 for the same thing, though I bet they upgraded the cupboards and appliances and perhaps a few other things.
Based on the photos on that site, the units are MILES ahead of what I lived in and still are compared to current photos of the Burlington rental.
