As seen from the alley. First pic seems to be a staging area where the old houses and big old tree used to be.

Excavation Begins for 60-Storey Vancouver Tower

Quote:
Excavation has begun for Vancouver's would-be tallest residential-only building at Burrard and Drake Streets. The 60-storey Burrard Place is being developed by Reliance Properties and The Jim Pattison Group, with IBI Group appointed as the project's lead architect. The development will create a formidable peak in the skyline, comparable in scale to Shangri-La and the newly completed Trump International Hotel and Tower.

Ad in the Vancouver Sun says it'll be sold as strata-titled office space.

Seems to be taking forever to dig that hole, has to be much deeper for a 60 storey bldg I'm thinking.

Well nobody can argue that this isn't indeed moving along now..

The crappy one floor orange and white cinder block building that is part of this development property and can be seen in the top of mcminsen's pic still manages to hold on though.
