The government should just get out of both the weed and liquor business and just let people be already.
In Alberta where alcohol sales are now private, I noticed craft beer prices in the stores as being about 10-20% higher than here in MB.

The prices on other stuff in Alberta is quite a bit less than here. But that brings me to the other issue. Booze and weed are taxed up the wazoo and that accounts for a huge amount of the price. Also the amount of regulation in place in those industries pretty much guarantees it's expensive to produce. How is it that in other places, as close as the US even, that beer costs a third or less than what it does here. Unreal

I'd settle for Ontario's buck-a-beer. Hit me with one of these bad boys after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day...

^ For a buck I'll take my chances!

At least Ontario got that... we voted PC and what did we get, other than a bunch of urgent cares and walk in clinics where ERs used to be.

Rumours are that there's almost no way for the buck a beer thing to work in Ontario – like even if taxes are lowered, it'd be difficult to make anything other than no name beer work.

Guess that leaves Main St at the last on the Domion stores to still exist in some way. Yes Marion and the confusion corner location still exist but both buildings are so heavily renoed all the traces are gone. KP was a little different as some of the exterior traces are still there. Main St of course as pretty much been in continuous operation as a grocery store under a variety of banners.

The Bishop and Pembina and Grant Park stores were long lost in massive renos. Not sure where else there was a Dominion store.
Unicity had one when that mall originally opened. No traces left.

For awhile, Superstore near Polo Park did not have any security at their exits. Last week, I noticed they had two people standing at their entrances/exits wearing uniforms with POLICE marked on the back. So Police are working as security at Superstore I guess?

The last couple times I have been to Scotiabank Theatre at Polo Park there I have seen an Impact Security guard in the lobby. Has there been an increase in confrontations in the lobby among theatre-goers? Problem with panhandlers? Or are too many people attending movies for free?

Last couple of times I’ve gone to silver city pp they had issues running the movies properly. That place is going down the tubes.

If they aren't an actual Police force, that's illegal.

If CN can have their own police force, maybe it's time Superstore did too!
