metropolitan center is conveniently located across the street from "bank of atlanta", midtown's premier ugly building!

seriously though, it's nice to see this stretch see some development. of all the urban corridors in town, it's especially tough for me to see midtown north of 14th street ever turning into a real urban environment without some serious infrastructure changes.

I totally agree, tho I'm surprised you would make that statement. 15th St. is still sorta in the urban flair.

I was told that it was going to be 25 floors. 19 floors residential above 6 floors of parking. I can't remember if I've seen a rendering.

In light of the plethora of proposals announced, it is ALWAYS a pleasure to see actual construction videos!

15th street, yeah. i was kind of including both sides of 14th, but then that would be almost 15th right? either way, north of there it just seems very suburban, especially along peachtree, and with the ridiculous freeway ramps it really stifles the walkability there. in all honesty, while the 5 story condo building across from the high isn't great, pershing point simply doesn't have the capacity or the right ingredients to make an urban neighbourhood like midtown south of 15th does. i would rather a great development be scuttled at that location in favour of a site further south.

A pre-Recession proposal that would bring an office tower, a residential tower, retail and restaurants to the heart of Midtown is still alive and kicking. Daniel Corporation VP John Zintak confirmed the aliveness of "Metropolitan Center," originally pitched years ago for a property primarily fronting Spring and 17th streets. "Although likely to be different from the 2007 designs," Zintak said, "Daniel Corporation is actively marketing the project for future mixed-use, office, residential, hospitality and retail." He said there was no specific outlook on construction but that everything was "probably a year out."
The dusted-off presentation can be seen in a nifty slide show. Plans call for a23-story, 570,000 square-foot office tower, the piece of the project that would front 17th Street. The tower would also include 35,000 square feet of street-level retail.
Surprisingly, the slide show (which is actually kind of frustrating) says nothing specific about the apartment tower, the building on the right in the above rendering. Old forum posts, however, claim it was originally planned to be a "roughly 30-floor luxury apartment tower with around 300 units."

Here you go^.^

Brand Properties Roswell Rd

Brand Properties has begun site preparation at ~4020 Roswell Rd, across the street from Pike Nurseries. Anyone have any info on this project? I can't seem to find any. See here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQGHLDBZaww for video of location.

If those are the renderings, I'm conflicted when it comes to ground level. Is there any retail and that curb cut is pretty large.

it looks like a hotel, not an apartment building. of course these are probably the pre-recession renderings, but they are confusing.

Right now, Atlanta has the tallest skyscraper outside of NYC and Chicago but in 2017 l.a. will take our position, how sad But hopefully in 2014-until (it will happen but) we will have some major developments because right now,we have competition so us ATLANTA need to pep are step and get some 50+ towers ASAP, like the BOA TOWER but taller,
So, I cross my fingers that the 98 14 st and 1138 will be built, because when other development companies see those towers other developments will come and mark a territory in the skyline!!!
Also I would love to see some love for the SoNo district where (Boa tower) we need bigger and better ideas , In my dreams lol I think that we should dig into the earth, Lay some granite, fill it with water and call it a lake we need something (BESIDES THE COREY TOWER) to draw attraction for this city to this beautiful city.

I personally could care less about having that title. I would take 5 10-20 story buildings over 1 50+ building any day. I'm more worried about infill and urbanizing the city than getting another super tall. We have enough super talls. More than a lot of cities in the US actually. What we are lacking is the infill and transit. Once we get those two things covered, Atlanta will be set.

...and a Coffee Bean (Airport doesn't count)

Never understood this. Why not both ? Seems like sour grapes some times.

Construction Update #7.1

Buckhead Atlanta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLg5yeQslqc
With four cranes and a few hundred workers on site, this development is taking shape nicely. The 2 buildings fronting Peachtree St have taken shape. The two towers are up to the 18th floor.

Restoration Hardware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbgTVBdSw2g
Foundation work has begun on the 6 story flagship store.

Broadstone Maple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEzI-L7zxQM
Work has begun on a 5 floor, 250 unit apartment building on Maple Dr between Peachtree Road and East Paces Ferry in Buckhead.

Camden Paces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHmQeUYfyk0
The townhouses fronting Andrews have taken shape. The crane is up and the foundations of the 8 story building are ready for the 1st floor.

Crescent Terminus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQPBb4QE4zY
Building one and two have topped out at 5 floors. Building three has created a tunnel over Highland Dr at the intersection with Tower Pl. Pretty cool! Check out all 7 updates on this playlist

3330 Peachtree: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLGnpR45ehQ
Anyone have any updated info on this 10 floor mixed use building?

SkyHouse Buckhead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8xY-6CozHY
An Arborist has marked over 130 trees with an X and a numbered tag. Does this mean we can expect groundbreaking soon? Hopefully!

Buckhead MARTA Station: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNsyzWsUTNA
The new northern entrances (NE on Stratford / NW entrance on Tower Pl) are a great addition to the station. Hopefully this will encourage more riders from both sides of 400. The NE entrance is ideally located next to Post Stratford, the Paramount, Mandarin Oriental and future SkyHouse Buckhead. The NW entrance is literally behind Old Navy, Ulta etc, and when riders use this entrance, they will have the sites and smells of garbage bins and delivery trucks and no direct access to the shopping plaza. I HOPE something will be done about this because it could discourage riders from using this entrance. Extend Tower Walk Park and create a back entrance to the Old Navy plaza.

Post Alexander Tower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1Yes2dxi7Q
The crane is up and foundation as work continues.

The Metropolitan At Phipps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssOsF4u-aFY
Modern townhouses taking shape across from Phipps Plaza.

Lenox Square Rennovation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS3OguAmac4
Work is almost done on the entrance facelift. You be the judge. When it's complete, I'll be sure to get some night time shots. As a side note, anyone notice the Lenox Mall Christmas Tree is in the parking lot this year on not on top of the Macy's building. Is this because it fell two years ago?

3380 Peachtree Road Apartments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D6UE3MXc68
Dante's is gone. Make way for 10 floors of apartments.

Brand Properties Roswell Road: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQGHLDBZaww
Not sure what's going on here but my $'s on apartments. Any info is appreciated
