What is this architectural style called?
https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0226...7i13312!8i6656

Every fucking building seems to be a variation of this fucking "post 2010" post-post-post modernism cladding crap. It is taking over the world. Miltonization!

I believe its modernism. Whats even worse than that are these concrete modernist lowrise jails humanity calls ¨apartment buildings¨.

and those are just from Toronto. In reality they are all over Canada and North America in general.

Some Ugly Cinemas

Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto is rather ugly.

Although the AMC (or Cineplex or whatever) in Montreal gives it a run for its money

But the most ugly cinema is this one.

There is also one in Vaughan

When you think of what that building once was, it's almost a sacrilege.

Market Square in Kitchener is an architectural atrocity. Where to start with this one, giant clocktower, bad modern aesthetics, bulkiness. Its all disgusting.

It can be seen from most points in the city.

Although I would not call the parts without the giant clock pleasing to the eye either.

The Canada Trust Center also in Kitchener is another abomination that comes to mind.

Mini clock.

This building also towers over everything else which I would not mind if it did not look so ugly.

Ah, so that´s why the interior of the Montreal AMC looks like this, very hockey themed.

One quick google search later and I suddenly hate the AMC a lot more. The lobby of the Cinema tries to be hockey themed (see post above). But its still a failure.

Hockey aside, it is historical destruction. Look at what it used to be, now look at the fugly AMC replacement. Its almost as bad as Penn Station being demolished to make way for Maddison Sqaure Garden in New York City!

In fairness, the lion's share of the damage to the Forum was done during the hockey era. When I was a young kid in the 70s the nice old look of the building was already gone.

So what you see at the moment in terms of core structure (metal siding style) is what it looked like then. The modern, parasite-like appendages of the entertainment centre are what's been added since the Habs left the building.

Every hospital in Canada is either a giant concrete slab or a brutal modern structure. Heres some of the ones that come to mind.

ETOBICOKE

LAVAL

MONTREAL (Mcgill University)

HAMILTON (Mcmaster University)

I went inside the old forum in December and I am not sure what was going on, but the place looked like a construction site. I went upstairs to have a look at what was happening behind the wooden panels that were all over the place, and it turns out nothing was happening at all. The only things that seems to be doing fine there is the cinema and maybe the Comedy's Nest, the rest of the place looks dead and empty.

Those ugly theatre complexes break new ground in the annals of ugliness. Ugly enough to stop a clock. A face that not even a mother could love.

Whomever is responsible for what they did with the Montreal Forum should be hanged, drawn and quartered. The Pepsi (of fucking course it is Pepsi, that brand never had any class) forum or whatever it is now called is just an abomination.

Guido and Angelina! Didn't that place fail like a decade or so ago? Must be an old photo, as Future Shop has been gone for many years now.

About 18 years ago, I was walking past the Pepsi forum once on a cold winter day, and walked STRAIGHT into a couple, splitting them apart. That couple was Rene Angelil and Celine Dion. I shit ye not.

That's the Dolly Parton (Big Tits) building.
