I think it has something to do with the bottom of that steel beam jutting out and not a drain pipe?

Thanks!

Is it the only instance of that on the tower?
I wonder if it's extra strengthening to compensate for the glass floor next to it?

Here's some earlier photos of that section of the cube.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...228241&page=23

I think it's one of the larger sections of the cubes with no support so maybe it needed more steel under it?

Thanks.
That beam goes waaay back - so yeah, looks like the added thickness/height is needed for strength.

The lowest cube in the alley has a similar beam jutting out but it's a reflective covering so it's hard to even make out.

Pics by me January 7th:

Georgia St. frontage/lobby cafe at grade with alley:

View through to elevator lobby a few steps down from the lobby cafe level:

Front door down a small set of stairs from the Georgia St. sidewalk:

Homer frontage.
Set of stairs and low wall along the sidewalk separating the restaurant patio.
Looks like the restaurant level is a few steps down from the elevator lobby level.

The ground floor is a lot different than the Oct 12, 2017 plans.

Anyone know what this round thing on the alley side is going to be? Maybe a torture chamber?
I thought it was going to be a revolving door.

After almost four years it's nice to get our sidewalks back again.

I thought there was going to be a back entrance through the round thing - I guess not.
Could just be a lounge?
There's a construction tent near there.
There could be a back door there for what I thought would be a cafe in that space.

I wonder who authorized a new lamp post in the middle of the sidewalk?
The crosswalk also needs to be made the full width of the sidewalk (like at Richards).

Pics by me today.

At Richards:

I guess there is some limit on the minimum distance from the building causing the location?

Any idea when the occupancy is being planned? I am curious to see this with some green growth on it in the summer.

The previously street light was about a meter away from the crosswalk line. https://goo.gl/maps/rakYBypZfRwQHKvQ6

It looks like there is some pink marking spray exactly on the original location in Officedweller's pic.

Yeah, it's a new lamp post foundation/base.

I was thinking that, but the awning at Scotia Tower is maybe a foot away from a lamp post.
and the Google streetview that madog posted shows the old lamp post closer to the building.
