I'm wondering how rough the opening of Proper will be for hotel guests and construction.....Will they be high up enough by that time that only residents will be effected?

Trammell Crow Austin finally started featuring this project on their website:

https://www.trammellcrow.com/en/peop...offices/austin

But the three high def renderings they have are the same three we have already seen from STG Design. And they do not have any other info about the project other than the three renderings.

Most of the equipment has been removed from the site. That would indicate that diaphragm wall construction has been completed, and excavation is ready to begin.

Great pictures AusTxDevelopment. They really did move that equipment fast. I took pictures on 6-3-19 and it was still there.

Google finally confirms that they leased Block 185. But they don't say how much their Austin workforce will be expanding.

Here's the Statesman version. Google has finished moving all 1.1K of its local force into 10 floors of 500 W. 2nd St. Those employees will stay at that location, so the Block 185 and Saltillo office buildings will be for their Austin expansion.

So how do we politely pressure Google to get the developer to night light their tower in a fantastic future forward way? Their building will ALWAYS be prominent in the skyline from Zilker, Lady Bird, MoPac, Lamar, Cesar Chavez etc.. That building could make us all swoon at night.

Surprised the article said they wouldn't move in to block 185 until 2023.

It's still weird to me that 2023 sounds futuristic, like its 50 years away... except it's like 3 1/2.

Like that meme says "when I hear '30 Years ago' I still think 1970".

Pelli Clarke Pelli incorporated a fantastic lighting scheme to the new Frost Bank tower in SA, so I'd be surprised if they didn't do something spectacular here.

Yes they did indeed. It is very cool in person. Hopefully they will do something interesting for the Sail.

San Antonio gets one new building downtown in the last 5 years and it's designed by PCP with awesome lighting. Really hit the jackpot there.
