I really like what Pinnacle is doing here. They are planning to keep a historic parsonage on the site. Considering that this is a block-sized project, I like that they are keeping some architectural diversity here and incorporating it into the street frontage. It reminds me of The Little House if anyone remembers that book.

I'm glad as well that they decided to save the old building. I can't wait to see 11th and Broadway completed, it'll create a nice canyon with Smart Corner. Also it's kind of silly but does that render remind anyone else of Up?

I'm assuming you can park in the underground parking lot right?

They're telling people to take the trolley, which I assume to mean that the underground parking garage probably doesn't have the capacity to accommodate everyone (the garage really isn't that big). They're currently building a bigger parking structure one block east of the park. But until that's complete, parking will be slim pickings.

That being said, I'm guessing you can park there if you get there early enough. But I bet it'll fill up quickly...

It's $5 an hour if I'm not mistaken. I don't know if it will be free for the event. You could probably park on the Embarcadero.

The event at CAC is free.

Also, here are a few pics from a new project in Sherman Heights:

First, an affordable housing project called COMM22.

Sorry, phone camera. That's what's up.

Also, this is going up in Golden Hill as I type:

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but there is a webcam for the new Central Courthouse:

Thanks for posting about the webcam. I just added it to my favorites. I can't wait to watch it rise. It will fill one of the larger gaps in the skyline.

Groundbreaking for Lane Field was today! I'm glad that the parking lots are slowly being removed from the waterfront. http://www.portofsandiego.org/lane-f...k-project.html

Qualcomm is building a new tower at their campus in Sorrento Mesa. 11 stories. I'm trying to find a good rendering, but here is the permit application:

"C2Sea" I have no idea the status of this project, appears to be conceptual only. At Broadway and 7th Ave.

This is a head scratcher...there is no available land at 7th and B-way unless something sizable is demolished. Also, it says the building will be 40 floors, however the rendering looks closer to 30

Touch on the ugly side, but maybe it will look better in person.

Here is another Qualcomm building currently under construction...I like this one quite a bit.

Yeah, it's not my favorite from Qualcomm either. Then again, their whole campus is a tad bit meh. The shorter buildings you posted are alright. I wish Qualcomm would have moved into a more urban environment, but now that they're expanding rapidly on the mesa, that hope is gone.

Right, they've basically built their own city or at least neighborhood in Sorrento Valley. I still think they will add offices to the IDEA district once that gains momentum, but I would like to see them add a major high rise. I agree that's less likely since they're so invested in SV, but some of these developments have been in the pipeline for some time. It's possible they may begin to change course given the more recent momentum of urban concepts like IDEA.
