It's actually pretty tall even among New York's towers. It would stand out in most locations.

Yeah, on second thoughts you're right.

Thinking how Trump World New York rises over the United Nations and the East River and Scotiaplaza is taller. So yeah...

That's my thinking. That plus the colour is very different to almost everything in New York too.

Their height limit is due only to the city centre airport which is currently being decommissioned.

Scotia Plaza would be the 8th tallest building completed in NYC today, coming in just shorter than the Citigroup Center. If we were to include towers under construction, it would 15th. I'm pretty sure it would be very noticeable.

The 8th tallest building would stand out in the majority of locations in NY; even within Lower Manhatten.

70 Pine Street isn't exactly hidden despite the roof being at 850 foot and is right in the thick of things.

No worries. Scotia Plaza would be one of the nicest towers in the United States if it were in New York, and probably would have been built taller as well. Then again, they probably would have stuck some God awful spire on top of it like they do with everything and ruin it.

Yep, it would of being built taller in New York considering all the plus 275 metre towers built there in the late 1980s and 90s.

Lol, well they did build 14 towers over 200 meters between 1980 and 1999, so that's something. However, none were over 250 meters, unless one counts spires which is stupid, in that case, 4 Times Square is 341 meters!

Exactly. They built a lot of towers during these decades but, didn't break 250 metres. Scotia Plaza would of come in at 200 metres as well. Anything 275 metres tall would of experienced fierce objection.

The airport has been officially closed since November 1st.

ahh, good ole, Section 37

City Council authorize the City Solicitor and appropriate City staff, in consultation with the Ward Councillor, to attempt to secure appropriate services, facilities, public art contributions or matters pursuant to Section 37 of the Planning Act, should the proposal be approved in some form by the Ontario Municipal Board.
