6C and rain in Moncton at 9 AM. Rain all day (and tomorrow). Up to 50 mm expected. High today will be 9C. Definitely feels like fall.

Crisp start to the day here for sure. Beautiful though.
Gorgeous fall pics. You never fail to capture Ontario's understated beauty (compared to the dramatic beauty of Western Canada).

As for the bolded, correct, and Pearson also sits at a higher elevation.

Just 40 km northwest where the elevation is over 400m and further from the lake, they have experienced hard frosts (-5 and below) already.

Victoria is on the list. Look again.

It is one of the seven survivors.

Puerto Rico is still not over their last one years ago. Heartbreaking another island is going to take a generational hit.

This will likely be the strongest hurricane to ever hit Jamaica, and it will hit Cuba next. Haiti / Dominican will get a glancing blow, but given how desperate Haiti already is, it will probably be a major disaster for them too. I bet there will be an effect on Atlantic Canada later in the week

Urban heat island effect is no joke. On top of that, Toronto and Montreal both benefit from being near major bodies of water that make them quite a bit warmer than their surroundings. I was in the Laurentians yesterday, about 100km north of Montreal, and it feels like it's on the cusp of winter. Montreal still has many green trees.

Because we haven't had a frost yet, there are flowers still blooming and subtropical plants still growing outside, which provide a really beautiful contrast to the foliage.

Speaking of foliage, the giant maples in my back alley have reached their peak.

^^^ I believe Vancouver is also on a fairly large body of water we call "the Pacific". But no heat island out at YVR tho.

11C and sunny. Decent day.

Low of 3C this morning. Clear morning so it cooler than previous couple of mornings. Dewpoint remains between 1-3C so a freeze is impossible in those conditions.

Warmspot was Weagamow Lake, ON at 17.2C. First time I am seeing that name.

Warmest low was Sandy Lake, ON at 17.4C.

I've been keeping an eye on this one Hurricane Melissa for the past couple of days thinking it might be Canada related later this week.
Its making headlines Hurricane Melissa is now the strongest storm anywhere on the planet this year

Melissa should stay out to sea and not affect Atlantic Canada, but, moisture from the storm might feed into a cold front passing over the Maritimes and make for a very rainy Hallowe'en.

9C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 10 AM, going up to 12C this afternoon.

We've had stronger hurricanes at sea in recent years, but this is apparently the strongest to make landfall in modern times.

892.5mb in the latest plane fly-through. It's getting stronger on approach, which is unusual, especially given Jamaica is a significant size and it should've weakened this close to landfall.

EDIT: Officially the strongest hurricane in recorded history to make landfall (important caveat, there have been stronger ones that didn't, as over water they can, of course, get stronger).

I didn't mention Vancouver because its climate is much more temperate than Toronto or Montreal, so it's only natural that it would have a later frost date
