Smart Centre Place Condos, right next to the SmartCentres subway station! Also, what year is that website from?

So is Vaughan Metro Centre supposed to be a legit "new downtown" or more of a Mississauga big suburba-thingy?

Walk outside your front door to a vehicle only power centre parking lot! Think of the convenience!

I just can't believe how fast these projects are selling out. It's a complete shithole. It's 30 years behind Mississauga Centre. A market correction and bye bye goes the big suburba-thingy vision and the value of your condo.

merci pour les photos!

Lord of its' domain with Archambault, Steak Shop and the other stores cowering in its' shadow.

I haven't seen that side from the first pic before. There appears to be an observatory for the residents of Les Residences Soleil to look longingly at the free world outside. Unfortunately it will never let them go!!!

This is really weird land use -- it's strikingly strange when you stop and think about it.

A highrise building, and next door you have empty fields or large surface lots or ultra-low-density residential.

Mississauga is probably the very worst place for this. It's nuts. Clearly the product of design-by-zoning or design-by-strict-bank-financing-rules or something else, but it's definitely un-natural.

My Little Missing-sausage Rant/frustration with city

NOTE* Not yelling at you Lio, I respect you. I'm agreeing with you and adding a bit of a rant.

I gotta say.....living in Mississauga as I do.....the planning is really damn ass backwards. The amount of 70's/80's SFH that is right near the "downtown" makes the outer neighbourhoods look rather regressive compared to the really strange highrise area that's forming.

Also....I feel like Laval and Mississauga shared a lot of similarities back in the late 90's, 20 years ago. At that time, living in the MCC must's been a sure sh*thole, while now it's a bit more.....urban? or suburban?

Anyways, I'm not sure what Mississauga will do in the next few years with building a "downtown", but I do know the largest field of grass in the downtown will be redeveloped with condos. At this point, I could probably care less what Mississauga builds, the dependency the city has on cars is nothing short of annoying as a pedestrian. I'm glad that I'll go move elsewhere from Mississauga......it's so sh*tty as a pedestrian or a cyclist. I think the main thing that annoys me about Mississauga is the way they separate the road from the sidewalk....with a shitty median of grass. It's completely redundant to keep, unless it's for natural absorption of groundwater....but even then, their is usually PLENTY of grass nearby. It makes it difficult to make the MCC have some real grit and functional, large sidewalks.

That is just hideous!!! Fake stone, bright red posts, and the text across the whole thing (coffee, donuts, smoothies, sandwiches, coffee, etc.) is just ridiculous.
Tim Hortons has coffee?? Wow I never would have guessed that! And those images on the glass are pretty bad. The Days Inn with the lame looking nightclub just adds to the humour and the homeless guy walking by with the shopping cart doesn't help.

Mississauga's downtown master plan represents an insta-neighbourhood that has taking 50 years to develop and its still not complete. Planning has taken on different trends over that time as well. There's more than a few places like that in the GTA. Scarborough Centre comes to mind.

Yep! Macleod Trail is just... it's the closest Calgary comes to being Laval.

Did you find that Tim's on your own or see it when I posted it after your challenge? I thought it might be the only one but someone from Edmonton shared their version that resides in a big box parking lot. Not sure which locale is worse.

I saw it when you posted it. I actually posted about saying that was the ugliest one but the post didn't work for some reason.

The one in Edmonton was pretty bad as well but I just thought the Calgary one was overall the ugliest. But I have to say that all of the posts were fun to see.
